Nissan Pathfinder: All you need to know
The presence of Nissan Pathfinder in the UAE SUV segment cannot be underrated. However, the Pathfinder can be considered to have a mixed life throughout its existence as it was first introduced as a compact off-road vehicle that had a five-seater layout.
The Nissan SUV received a facelift for 2018 and is now as good as ever. A perfect combination of technology and mechanism, the Pathfinder is one of the best options to be considered at this price range. It has been given many intelligent features that take driving to the next level.
Here are some of the things that you should know about the Nissan Pathfinder before you buy.
What’s behind the design?
The Nissan Pathfinder is carved with a very rugged design all over. It has the signature characters of a stylish and tough off-roader without compromising on the premiumness of an on-road vehicle.
The LED projector headlamps up front have a very good illumination and are placed adjacent to the sharp front grille that is generous with chrome. The skid plate in the front is blacked out and has a silver lining at the lip spoiler.
The wheel arches aren’t very prominent but the fenders are very contoured, perfectly complementing the 20-inch alloy setup. In fact, the sculpted lines on the sides are rounded and look more shapely than edgy. There is a chrome strip at the boot door handle and a silver lining below it.
What lies inside?
The new Nissan Pathfinder is nothing short of luxury on the inside. It has a lot of elements that will blow your mind, be it the rich leather covers on the seats, the chrome bits on the inside door handles or the wooden trims on the dashboard.
The seven-seater layout is extremely spacious for all the occupants, including the rear row, which can be reclined for additional comfort. The panoramic moonroof is a dual panel which enables a view for all the occupants. Moreover, the comfort level irrespective of the row is maintained the same, thanks to the tri-zone automatic climate control with dedicated AC vents for all the three rows.
While on the drive, you can even get the music pump up to its highest with the premium Bose audio system onboard. An 8-inch touchscreen display sits on the dashboard that plays a very important role on the GPS navigation perspective as well.
The mechanism under the hood
Under the hood of the Nissan Pathfinder, the company has added an extremely powerful engine. This is a 3.5-litre V6 engine with 24 valves. This motor can produce a maximum power of 271 PS, which comes at 6,400 rpm and a peak torque of 340 Nm coming at 4,800 rpm. The power is sent down to all the wheels via an X-Tronic CVT gearbox unit.
The engine is highly refined while on the highway and is great to feel off the track as well. The CVT gearbox feels smooth at any speeds and does not feel clumsy on the rise.
Intelligent features
The Nissan Pathfinder is built to offer a bold and convenient ride and hence is given a lot of features that would impress the driver. There is an Intelligent Cruise Control that can work well with varied speeds and can respond according to the speed of the car in front.
There are four cameras in the Pathfinder which enable a bird-eye view, adding an extra bit of convenience while making way into a crowded parking lot. It also gets a host of sensors like Moving Object Detection, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Intelligent Emergency Braking.
The emergency braking system keeps a close eye on the speed and distance of the car in front and informs the driver if there is a chance of collision. However, if the driver fails to respond on time, the system applies the brakes by itself.
Verdict
The Nissan Pathfinder is an extremely appealing SUV right from the onset. It has a very attractive designing finish on the outside and a rich set of interior features. Added to that, the intelligent technology added to the package makes it more like an extremely premium car on the block.
Having said all of that, the high revving engine deserves to be mentioned here. Hence, considering everything that is being offered, the Nissan Pathfinder is an irresistible package.
