Nissan X-trail Overview
Nissan has updated the X-Trail SUV for the 2025 model year. The car is now equipped with Nissan's ProPilot 2.1 system. It enhances the X-Trail’s driver-assist technology by adding braking, speed, and lane control to the adaptive cruise control system. A 360-degree camera comes as part of standard equipment on higher trims. The cabin is spacious and gets faux-leather upholstery for the higher models. It’s equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine. It’s a handsome-looking three-row SUV, though space on the third row is rather crammed. It’s also pricier than most rivals but offers great traveling comfort.

Which is the most value-for-money variant of the Nissan X-Trail?

What features does the Nissan X-Trail get?
The 2024 Nissan X-Trail is the fourth-generation version. The car's front fascia is a welcome departure from the over-aggressive grilles that most SUVs have these days. Nissan's signature V-motion grille looks confident. The car gets all-around LED lighting. The headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs) look classy. The 2024 Nissan X-Trail, in profile, has an understated elegance. The entry-level version runs on 17-inch alloy wheels that nicely fit into the arches and lend the car a planted stand. The proportions are rather boxy. The car doesn't get a sloping roofline that seem to be in fashion. The entire design is purposeful and not fashionable.
The rear-end is mixed. The bulbous tailgate will remind of simpler times when SUVs were more about practicality, not style. The lack of chrome seems to be a cost-cutting measure. But it also lends the 2024 Nissan X-Trail a no-nonsense appeal. Overall, the car is stylish sans being over-bulky.
The interior of the 2024 Nissan X-Trail isn't premium. But it isn't pedestrian either. The lines are simple and the chrome-effect detailing highlights the shape. There are some piano black plastics prone to smudges and fingerprints. The top-spec trim gets tan leather that brightens up the interior. It gets a full-length sunroof that makes the cabin more airy. Other trim options are in black or grey. that are less likely to show up grime. There are a lot of scratchy plastics, particularly in the lower part of the cabin. The overall quality is solid.
The higher models get a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, connected to a 10-speaker Bose sound system. While the screen is big, the graphics could have been sharper. But it's still easy enough to read and responds quickly. There's a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with large readouts. The dual-zone climate control gets physical buttons that reduce dependency on the touchscreen.
How spacious is the Nissan Sunny?
With 4,680mm length, 1,725 mm width, 1,705 mm height, the 2024 Nissan X-Trail is a fairly spacious SUV. Though it shares a number of mechanical bits with its cousin Qashqai, the Nissan X-Trail feels much bigger inside and easier to live with. Finding a comfortable driving position is easy with a number of adjustments. The two front seats get the maximum space. However, the electric adjustment is limited only to high-end trims.
The second row has enough space to carry three adults. The middle part folds down to form an armrest with two cupholders. The bench-type row is reclinable to get more comfort.
The rear-seat is also bench-type but feels crammed for two adults. There's not much legroom. The seat also lacks proper under-thigh support. Access to the rear seat is easy because of the flip-down middle row. Also, the door opens almost 90 degrees to allow easy entry and exit.
The 2024 Nissan X-Trail gets 585 litres of boot space with the last row up.
What engine and transmission options are available?
The 2024 Nissan X-Trail's entry-level version is equipped with a turbocharged, four-cylinder, 2.5-litre petrol engine that produces 181PS/245Nm. The motor is mated to a Nissan XTronic CVT. SUVs aren't supposed to be sporty and the fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail is no different. it has enough grunt for normal driving. While the powertrain is efficient, it needs a bit of prodding to speed up things. The power delivery is a bit delayed.
The 2024 Nissan X-Trail gets a softly-sprung suspension that proves to be a very effective shield from road imperfections. The impact from only the worst potholes is felt inside the cabin. Despite the soft suspension, the ride never gets floaty.
What’s the mileage of the Nissan X-Trail?
The 2024 Nissan X-Trail has a claimed mileage of 14kmpl on mixed road conditions. SUVs aren't meant to be fuel-efficient. Real-time mileage within the city is less but it increases on highways.
How safe is the Nissan X-Trail?
The 2024 Nissan X-Trail is a well-equipped car in terms of safety. It comes with a rearview camera. The display quality isn't satisfactory. Other equipment includes parking sensors, speed-sensing door locks, anti-theft alarm, antilock braking, cruise control, and traction control.
How many colour options are there for the Nissan X-Trail?
The 2024 Nissan X-Trail is available in a choice of 11 colour options. All models get body-coloured bumpers
Should you buy the Nissan X-Trail?
The 2024 Nissan X-Trail strikes a sturdily built SUV that offers a nice balance between practicality and comfortable travel. It's spacious and airy, though the third row in the seven-seater version is more of a cosmetic addition, meant only for small children. Overall, it's a family car that can go on occasional weekend trips.

Other things to consider

Nissan X-trail Expert Review
Abhishek Katariya says
The Nissan X-Trail had its international debut in 200 as a fairly no-nonsense 4x4 sports utility vehicle (SUV) solely focussed on practicality. The car is now its fourth generation and has replaced the seven-seat Qashqai. The X-Trail got an update for the 2024 model year and mostly picks up where the last one left off. It's available in five trims in the Emirates market.

Nissan X-trail Interior & Features
The cabin of the 2024 Nissan X-Trail is spacious and is solidly put together. The entry-level model gets fabric seats and upholstery. The top-level model gets a leather interior. The dashboard gets soft-touch, textured plastics, and the physical switches are nicely damped. The use of scratchy, hard plastics is minimal. Materials further back are more durable than plush. But there aren't any sharp edges or exposed metalwork. The dashboard itself is logically laid out. All controls are within reach. An 8.2-inch central touchscreen (entry-level model) dominates the dashboard. It's connected to a multi-speaker audio system. The touchscreen's display is crisp, and the icons are easy to navigate. While many cars have eliminated physical climate control buttons, the 2024 Nissan X-Trail comes with rotary controllers. These are far more user-friendly while driving than scanning multiple menus on the touchscreen. The high driving position and the wide windscreen offer a great view of the road ahead.
X-trail Exterior
The 2024 Nissan X-Trail is the largest SUV from the Japanese manufacturer. With an increase in the overall width and height, the car looks much more imposing. The biggest highlight is that it can carry seven passengers. The styling of the 2024 Nissan X-Trail is rather pleasing. The SUV styling makes for a very usable shape. The rugged cladding around the rear bumper and wheels, with silvery skid plate detailing, forges an appealing look. But the SUV leans more towards the premium side than any kind of off-road capability. Nissan's new design language is elegant and really unique to the brand. It flows nicely between all cars in the company's lineup with a sense of brand cohesion. It never appears to be yet another simply copy-paste selection of indefinable models. The 2024 Nissan X-Trail runs on 19-inch alloy wheels.
Nissan X-trail Engine & Fuel Consumption
The 2024 Nissan X-Trail's entry-level model is equipped with a turbocharged, four-cylinder, 2.5-litre petrol engine that produces 170 hp of maximum power. The motor is mated to an X-Tronic CVT. Handling is not a strong point of midsized SUVs. But driving the X-Trail is still satisfying because the rake and reach adjustable steering has a reassuring feeling and is naturally weighted. It's precise with no feedback. Rear visibility could have been better. The large rear pillars partially block the view over the shoulders. The 2024 Nissan X-Trail is a nice highway cruiser.
X-trail Braking & Safety
The 2024 Nissan X-Trail comes with in-built sat-nav. But it's not available in the entry-level model. A rearview camera comes as standard along with parking sensors. Other safety equipment includes adaptive high-beam headlights that's standard across the range.
Nissan X-trail Verdict
At a starting price of AED 99,900, the 2024 Nissan X-Trail is an affordable midsized SUV. It offers nice travelling comfort and the option to carry seven passengers. It's a value-for-money car for families that want a bit more premium SUV.
