Ford has completely revamped the Territory SUV, which has now become bigger, bolder and more premium than before. The second-generation Territory wears a whole new design which is inspired by the new-generation Ford vehicles sold globally. The new Ford Territory is being offered in three variants – Ambiente, Trend and Titanium, with seven colour options on offer – Panther Black, Tru Blue Metallic, Star White Metallic Tri-coat, Ruby Red Metallic Clearcoat, Autumn Brown Metallic, Diffused Silver Metallic and Crystal Pearl White Metallic Tricoat.
Ford Territory Interior & Features
Continuing the essence of modernity built up by the exterior, the interior of the Ford Territory is also a fresh and feature-packed place to be in. The Territory comes with dual-tone black and beige leather upholstery with faux wood and satin chrome layers and inserts, which looks and feels rich.
The Territory has a four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel behind which there’s a huge rounded rectangular full-TFT cockpit. Accommodating two 12-inch screens – one each for the instrument console and touchscreen infotainment system, this cockpit makes the cabin look sci-fi and up-to-date. The middle layer of the dashboard in the centre console houses the sleek AC vents, while the lower centre console houses sleek-looking buttons for the climate control and high-mounted transmission tunnel.
The immensely spacious cabin of the Ford Territory is decently packed with features, such as a wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, push start-stop button, dual-zone automatic climate control and cooled front seats. However, for the price and segment to which it belongs, it could have been equipped with more premium features. The lack of crucial must-haves like power adjustment for the front seats and auto-dimming inside the rearview mirror makes the cabin of the Territory feel a bit underequipped.
Territory Exterior
Ford has given the Territory a complete overhaul in design, which now looks much sharper and bolder SUV. The attention-grabbing highlight of the front profile of the Territory is its octagonal front grille, which has a gloss black finish for the sides and lower garnish, and a chrome strip at the top. The upper edges of the grille are flanked with an array of daytime running LEDs, with the Territory having a split arrangement for the headlamps. The main LED headlamps are positioned on the lower corners of the front bumper and are placed in the upper part of the C-shaped housings.
The Ford Territory has a nicely designed and well-proportioned side profile, boasting smooth curves which look like extensions of that of the front bonnet. While the wheel arch mouldings, door claddings and roof rails give it the much-needed SUV-ish look, the presence of chrome inserts on the door handles and window surrounds make it look premium. The Territory comes with 19-inch machined alloy wheels and door-mounted rearview mirrors for that added sense of style.
At the back, the Ford Territory has a clean look for the boot lid, which wears the name of the vehicle in the middle, with LED combination lamps on the sides. The license plate housing is positioned on the lower part of the boot lid, with the rear bumper having a rugged look with cladding all over it. The Territory also comes with a roof-mounted spoiler with integrated LED brake light.

Continuing the tradition of dynamically well-sorted vehicles from Ford, the Territory is an SUV which offers nice feedback from behind the steering wheel, while at the same time, offering a well-cushioned ride quality, especially at higher speeds.
Territory Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Ford Territory is available only with a 1.8-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as the only pick of transmission on offer for the SUV. While the engine's maximum power output is rated at 190 Nm, the peak torque output of the engine is 320 Nm.
Ford Territory Braking & Safety
The Ford Territory has a long list of safety features, including a host of amenities like front, side, and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, blind spot information system, hill start assist, rear parking sensors and camera, ESC, traction control, and cruise control. The optional technology pack brings in more features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and lane keep aid.
