Nissan Kicks Overview
The new Nissan Kicks broke cover in March 2024. The Japanese automobile major was testing several prototypes of the car and has finally revealed the production-ready version that looks markedly different from the outgoing model. The 2025 Nissan Kicks gets a chunky and horizontal-slat grille. The grille openings slide inward. The interior has been upgraded as well and the dashboard is now dominated by a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. There’s a 10-speaker Bose audio system. The car is hauled by a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine that produces 140 PS/190 Nm. The powertrain is among the best in class.

In the international market, the Kicks sits below the Nissan Rogue compact SUV. The Price of the 2024 Nissan Kicks starts at AED 71,000.
How many variants are there in the Nisan Kicks range?
The 2024 Nisan Kicks is available in four models and a single-engine option.
Which is the most value-for-money variant of the Nissan Kicks?
The 2024 Nissan Kicks SL is the most value-for-money trim. It comes with a number of additional features over other models. It's the second-highest trim in the series.
What features does the Nissan Kicks get?
The Nissan Kicks had its global debut in 2018 and was cosmetically updated in 2021. The car has since remained unchanged and carries the brand's signature design language. A lot of Nissan's V-motion design elements have been used throughout the car. The V-motion grille in the front is flanked on both sides by sleek headlights. The car gets all-around LED lighting. The grille gets a shiny black accent across all models. The rear of the 2024 Nissan Kicks gets special V-motion-inspired taillights. The sides get black body cladding that extends from the front to the back. There's a bit of silver accent on the car's lower third part. The Nissan Kicks runs on 16-inch alloy wheels.
The rear-end of the car sports a more traditional styling. It's somewhat similar to the older Nissan X-Trail model. The rear is round-type with the lower bumper getting black accents. The car also gets a rear diffuser in body-matched colour. The overall look of the 2024 is a balance between modern and futuristic.
The entry-level model of the 2024 Nissan Kicks has a black fabric interior. The cabin is pretty much straightforward. The dashboard has a dual-layer design. The circular air vents are placed on either side. The horizontal vents are placed in the middle. The 2024 Nissan Kicks SL has a faux-leather interior. Its dashboard is dominated by a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The unit is connected to a Bose multi-speaker audio system. There's a 7.0-inch Nissan Drive-Assist display unit with easy readouts. The cabin has a number of convenient storage spaces.

How spacious is the Nissan Kicks?
With 4,295 mm length, 1,760 mm width, and 1,669 mm height, the 2024 Nissan Kicks is a fairly spacious car in the crossover-SUV segment. The two front passengers enjoy the maximum space with enough legroom. The front seats come with good thigh support. The tilt-adjustable and telescopic steering wheel allows the driver to get into a comfortable seating position. The quality of the faux leather looks premium. The seats get headrests as well. The second row offers decent space but accommodating three adults could be a bit tough. But two persons can comfortably sit on the bench-type rear seat. Under-thigh support is decent. Boot space is 400 litres and the rear row can be folded down to get more space. There's no dearth of headroom in the cabin because of the straight roof. There are rear air-conditioning vents.
What engine and transmission options are available?
The 2024 Nissan Kicks is hauled by a four-cylinder, 1.4-litre petrol engine that produces 118PS/149Nm. The motor is mated to a six-speed automatic. The powertrain is among the most efficient and acceleration is quick though there's a bit of a lag in lower gears. Driving the Kicks is much like any subcompact SUV. The engine has sufficient grunt that's fairly audible despite the car's superb noise insulation. The steering wheel is nicely balanced and promptly responds to driver inputs. Overtaking on city roads is easy with the Kicks. The 2024 Nissan Kicks isn't much of a highway car but still has a decent cruising speed. But it would be unfair to expect a true-blue SUV-like performance as the Kicks is more on the crossover side. The suspension absorbs most of the bumps and thuds, leading to a very comfortable travelling experience.

How many colour options are there for the Nissan Kicks?
The 2024 Nissan Kicks is available in Aspen White and Aspen White with Super Black colour option. The latter is a dual-colour scheme.
Should you buy the Nissan Kicks?
The 2024 Nissan Kicks is among the most affordable cars in its segment. It comes from one of the most trusted automotive brands. The Kicks offers great travelling comfort in a well-appointed cabin.
What are my alternatives?
The 2024 Nissan Kicks faces competition from Mitsubishi ASX, Borgward BX5, and the Mazda CX-3. The Mitsubishi ASX is widely considered as the segment leader.
Other things to consider
The 2024 Nissan Kicks is an attractive proposition for buyers wanting an affordable subcompact SUV. True-blue SUVs are expensive and first-time buyers may not want to spend much on such a car. For them, the 2024 Nissan Kicks is a viable alternative. Maintenance is free from headaches and the car offers decent fuel economy. Nissan also has a wide service network. But long-term reliability could still be under question as the car was launched only in 2018.

Nissan Kicks Expert Review
Abhishek Katariya says
Nissan Kicks managed to grab the car of the year in 2017 and since then it has somehow managed to continue its legacy. It is not only a SUV with intelligent tech, but the engine under the hood also keeps it on par with the competitors in the segment.
In the UAE market, the current Nissan Kicks is a replacement for the Tida hatchback and the Juke crossover. However, it is slightly bigger in size than both the outgoing models.
Nissan Kicks is a nicely designed subcompact crossover, suitable mainly for the people who love going on long drives while cruising at the freeways. Belonging to the premium crossover family, it is rugged in appearance, but the lack of an AWD drivetrain might indicate that it isn’t the best option for adventure lovers.
Nissan Kicks Interior & Features
The Nissan Kicks is a delight once you have stepped in. Barring the hard plastic cover at every corner of the cabin, the company leaves behind no reasons to complain. The dashboard is clean and has good quality bits and buttons. The all-black colour scheme looks classy and entices the layout further. The 7-inch head-up touchscreen infotainment system is centrally-mounted and is accompanied by some buttons bits on its sides. The flat-bottom, 3-spoke steering wheel holds standard controls of the car.
However, there are many features in the car that are restricted to the top-end models only. As for an example, Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility, MOD (Moving Object Detection) system, and bird-view camera are elusive from the base. The standard fitments like keyless entry, dual airbags, two stereo speakers, and Bluetooth are offered across all the variants.
The 2018 Nissan Kicks is spacious with ample amount of legroom, headroom and cargo space. The rear seat is 60:40 foldable, which increases the boot space if needed.
Kicks Exterior
In terms of the designing, the Nissan Kicks stand out. There aren’t many things better than the floating roof design. The floating roof is obtained from the blacked out pillars, which gives the illusion that the roof is detached from the body of the car.
Get to the front of the car and you will witness a distinctive sleek headlamps design. Plus, the V-motion front grille border reminds us of the Nissan GT-R, one of the most envious cars from the Nissan lineup. The ORVMs are stylishly designed and are foldable too, just to keep it protected from knocks in tight traffic situations.
The Nissan Kicks rides on 17-inch tyres which exhibit the best shape with the striking aluminium alloy wheels. However, the base model misses out on many features like LED running lamps, fog lamps, and auto headlamps. And one can imagine how incomplete a car would look without fog lamps donning the front bumper.
Nissan Kicks Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Nissan Kicks has a very upbeat engine under the hood. The crossover feels nimble and agile on the road, thanks to the dynamic design incorporated on the body. And not to forget, the 1.6-litre engine, which produces a good power of 118 bhp along with a peak torque of 149 Nm. There isn’t a lot of torque on offer, which is visible when you try to accelerate rapidly to overtake the car ahead of you on the highway. However, cruising at a stable high speed is a delight.
The Nissan Kicks is a front-wheel driven crossover. Hence, the drive is far away from being very bumpy. Moreover, the D-Step CVT gearbox is just the perfect match for the power transmission with utmost smoothness.
Also, the dynamic design of the Kicks helps it to be a thrilling car at corners, be it at the vacant highways or the busy marketplace.
Kicks Braking & Safety
The Nissan Kicks is nothing short of abundance when it comes to the features. Features like dual airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Electronic Stability Programme, etc. are standard across trims. Moreover, unlike many other cars, Hill-start assist, which is one of the better features to have, is also offered in all the trims.
But the 2018 Nissan Kicks offer more than just these industry standards. The top grade model comes with AVM (Around View Monitor) which provides a bird-eye view of the surrounding. Also Moving Object Detection system and Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility are provided but are restricted to the top model only.
The connectivity option in the crossover touches a good level. The Nissan Navigation System provides perfect directions to the nearby places of interests including ATMs as well. Also, you can connect your smartphone to the car for hands-free calling while driving. All of these can be controlled with the buttons provided on the steering wheel.
