The Nissan Altima is a wonderfully crafted combination of a quality family-focused sedan with that of the powerful genes. It is perfectly designed to take on the city roads as well as the long stretches of open roads of the Middle East.
Being in its fifth generation, the car continues to hold up a lot of significance in the company’s model portfolio and in the minds of the customers. However, the sixth generation model, which was unveiled at the start of 2018 at the New York Auto Show, could be a huge step over the outgoing generation, thanks to the inclusion of the semi-autonomous capability. The mid-size sedan is a direct competitor to the popular long sedan cars from Toyota and Honda.

Nissan Altima Interior & Features
The fifth generation Nissan Altima boasts on a very serene cabin you will love to be in. The soft edges and the placement of everything on the dashboard appear to be premium. Also, the cabin is quite well-insulated and external noise is reduced to a great extent.
The top end 3.5 SL has a very sporty cockpit that is detailed and informative. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is an utmost delight while the seats are very well-cushioned and comfortable. In fact, the driver’s seat has the 8-way adjustable feature while the power lumbar support is 2-way adjustable. The rear-view mirror has the auto dim feature.
Altima Exterior
The Nissan Altima has a very premium design to exhibit. The sharp lines on the sides and the bonnet gives a strong character to the Altima. Whereas the front has the signature chrome addition on the grille. The headlamps have LED units for better illumination. It is extremely aerodynamic, much like the ones tested in a wind tunnel.
The rear end has a premium tail light design which splits at the boot lid. The top of the line model has 17-inch alloy wheels that are wonderfully designed. The tail section has dual exhaust tips for a sporty finish to the rear.
Nissan Altima Ride & Handling
One can barely deny the handling prowess of the Nissan Altima. It is designed to be a fun-to-drive model and can pin down any competition on its day. However, even with the fun and responsive engine, the stability is not compromised at all. The big wheels and thick tyres are the perfect ones to be in touch with the turf while you speed on the highways. And with such power on the throttle, you would love to hit the accelerator every now and then and feel the power given.
Altima Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Nissan Altima is available with two engine options. The smaller motor is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder gas unit, which can make a maximum of 182 horsepower and a peak torque of 245 Nm.
However, the bigger engine is a much more powerful unit, thanks to the 3.5-litre capacity with a V6 alignment. This engine can make a great power of 270 PS along with a humongous torque of 340 Nm. For the transmission, Nissan offers an Xtronic CVT as a standard fitment in both. Hence, it can be understood very well that the bigger engine is the perfect option to be taken on the open roads.
Nissan Altima Braking & Safety
For the front wheels, the Altima has 296 mm ventilated disc brakes. However, that is not all as the braking is further enhanced with the help of amazing equipment like ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist.
The safety of the occupants is handled by the dual front airbags and the ones on the side. The driver’s assistance consists of the traction control system and vehicles dynamic control along with active understeer control. There is also a rear-view parking camera, in case ones needs in a packed parking lot.

The Nissan Altima starts at a price of around AED 80,000 and extends up to AED 110,000 for the top end trim. At the given price, it does turn out to be a wonderful sedan to be had and might pin down its competitors with its amazing design and powerful engine.
