Available in five leather upholstery options: Burgundy, Black, Camel, Beige, and Ivory, the Seres 5 SF also has a faux wood finish across the dashboard and door panels, which makes the cabin look premium and upmarket. Adding more glory and a tech-rich feel to the cabin are the 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console and the massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. 

Adding more modernity to the cabin of the Seres 5 SF is the long list of standard features, including a panoramic glass roof, 12-way powered and ventilated front seats with massage function, Nappa leather finish for the seats, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, heated front and rear seats and a powered tailgate.

Going well with the compact dimensions of the Seres 5 SF, the design language of this midsize SUV has a curvaceous appeal to it. The front profile of the Seres 5 SF looks dramatic but simple with wing-shaped LED headlamps and curved eyebrow-themed LED DRLs that stretch towards the lower corners of the front bumper in a zig-zag manner. 

The side profile of the Seres 5 SF also looks curvaceous with smoothly-contoured fenders and door panels, with the SUV having 20-inch machined alloy wheels. The window surrounds look dramatic, with them having a pointy design while moving towards the rear quarter glass panel, while also having chrome surrounds. At the back, this SUV has a thick bar of lights stretching from end to end, which houses LED inserts on the corners and a prominent connected LED light bar across the boot lid’s width.  

Besides the high-tech powertrain, the Seres 5 SF has a conventional mechanical hardware setup under its skin, with its suspension setup including an independent double wishbone at the front and independent trapezoidal multi-link at the rear. Tuned for supple ride quality, this suspension setup is further accompanied by four driving modes and advanced all-wheel drive in AWD variants.

The Seres 5 SF is available as a range extender hybrid vehicle, which is being offered with a single rear-mounted electric motor in the RWD variant (295 bhp and 420 Nm) and a dual-motor setup in the AWD variant with one motor each at front and rear (637 bhp and 940 Nm). A 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which is used as a range extender here, claims 120 bhp and 200 Nm. 

The Seres 5 SF also has a 40kWh lithium-ion battery, which gives it a pure-electric range of 180 km in the RWD variant and 160 km in the AWD variant (both WLTC-certified). While the RWD variant has a top speed of 180 kmph, the AWD variant goes to 200 kmph. 

The package of advanced radar-controlled safety features offered in the Seres 5 SF has lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane cruise assist, auto parking assist, lane change assist, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, door opening warning, blind spot monitoring system, rear interspersed warning and vehicle to load.

This midsize crossover also has basic safety amenities like six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, a 360-degree parking camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The Seres 5 SF comes across as a tech-laden SUV, both in terms of the features it offers and the modern powertrain it gets under its skin. While this SUV might not click the hearts of those who love driving, it surely is a practical SUV with gizmos to attract modern tech-savvy car buyers.
