Hyundai Tucson 2025 Expert Review

Originally launched in 2020, the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson received its first facelift globally at the end of 2023, with the UAE car market receiving it only in the last quarter of 2024. Featuring a host of minor tweaks inside-out, the 2025 Hyundai Tucson facelift shares its N3 platform with the larger Santa Fe but is a smaller SUV in comparison.

Currently, the UAE car market gets the short-wheelbase version of the Hyundai Tucson facelift in three variants – Smart, Comfort+ and Premium+. The UAE car market will get the new Tucson in eight colour choices, namely White Cream, Shimmering Silver, Dark Knight, Sunset Red, Teal, Silky Bronze, Amazon Grey, and Phantom Black.

With a wheelbase of 2,680mm, the new Hyundai Tucson measures 4,500mm long, 1,865mm wide and 1,650mm tall. The majority of the exterior changes of the new Hyundai Tucson are concentrated at the front, with the side and rear profiles carrying very minute changes.

The front grille of the Hyundai Tucson facelift has been tweaked with a new trapezoidal design and revised LED DRLs, which look new while still being placed on the corners of the grille. The headlamps have been tweaked too, and continue to be all-LED units.

The new Tucson also gets revised front and rear skid plates, while now having new 18-inch alloys in the lower variants and 19-inch alloys in the Premium+ variant. The claw-themed LED tail lamps with a connected LED light bar continue to be there in the facelifted Tucson.

The cabin of the Hyundai Tucson also has minor but noteworthy changes, including a new multi-functional steering with illuminated Morse code for the Hyundai logo, new switches for the dual-zone climate control pad in the lower centre console, repositioned gear selectors (now in the steering column) and a larger-sized pad for wireless charging of smartphones.

The other premium features offered in the new Hyundai Tucson are ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console, 8-speaker BOSE audio system, powered front seats with memory function for the driver’s seat and ambient lighting.

The interior of the new Hyundai Tucson is available in three choices – all-black, dual-tone black and beige and teal. The new Tucson also ranks high in safety with premium safety features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot collision warning, lane keep assist, forward collision avoidance assist, blind spot view monitor, surround-view camera and six airbags.

There are three engine choices offered among the three variants of the Hyundai Tucson facelift. The base-spec Smart variant has a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (154 PS and 192 Nm) with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The mid-spec Comfort+ and top-spec Premium+ variants have a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (190 PS and 242 Nm), which is paired with an e-shift transmission. The Comfort+ variant can also be had with a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine (180 PS and 266 Nm) with the same e-shift transmission.
