2020 Nissan Sunny launched at Dubai Motor Show
Having made its debut way back in 1994 in the UAE, the Nissan Sunny with refreshed styling and updated interior is here for 2020. The 2020 Sunny was launched at the Dubai International Motor Show, which also saw some of the most interesting global cars and tech reveal alongside much-awaited regional debuts.
Nissan has sold more than half a million Sunny in the Middle East since its debut. The company is planning to build on that success and re-define glory with this new version. The 2020-version sub-compact sedan comes powered with the four-cylinder 1.6-litre petrol engine that churns out a max power of 126 PS and a peak torque of 149 Nm, mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an Xtronic CVT. The power is transferred to the front wheels.
Outside, the 2020 Sunny features the V-motion signature front grille, boomerang-shaped headlamps, redesigned wrap-around taillamps, new wheels, body-colored heated ORVMs with integrated turn signals and body-colored door handles. Nissan Sunny color options include Scarlet Ember Tintcoat, Electric Blue Metallic and others like black, white, silver, red and maroon.
From the inside, the new 2020 Nissan Sunny is more updated and comfortable, capable of offering a relaxed ride experience. The media system inside the cabin is now more advanced with an optional 7.0-inch color display with a touchscreen, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone system and Streaming audio function. The materials used inside are plusher than before. The digital climate control system has made its way to the interiors. Additionally, the sedan gets a push-start function as an option.
Other than these, Nissan Sunny specs sheet include speed-sensing auto door lock, front door pockets with bottle holder, dual cup holders at the front and back and one-touch auto up/down driver’s side window. There are three interior trims available, including Graphite Premium Cloth, Charcoal and Grey Premium Cloth.
For safety, the Sunny gets ABS with EBD, power-assisted front discs and rear drum brakes, brake assist, driver and passenger SRS airbags, ESP, easy-fill tyre alert system and an optional hill start assist as standard. The higher-grade models are benefitted from additional features like automatic emergency braking, intelligent blind spot warning, intelligent forward collision warning and intelligent rear cross traffic alert.
To be available in three trims, Sunny S, Sunny SV and the Sunny SL, the new sub-compact sedan will be on sale from March next year.
