Nissan to roll out 2020 Qashqai N-TEC edition in the UK soon
Japanese automobile major Nissan Motor is all set to introduce the 2020 Qashqai N-TEC Edition in the UK soon. The company had started the year by introducing new design and technology editions of its popular Micra, X-Trail, and Qashqai cars. It has now released further details about the N-TEC Edition which, the company claims, combines advanced technologies and standout design. Nissan says that the 2020 Qashqai N-TEC Edition will bring upscale driving at an affordable price to the seven-seat car which is sold as Dualis in Japan and Australia, and Rogue Sport in the US.
The 2020 Qashqai N-TEC Edition looks more aggressive because of the 19-inch, all-black alloy wheels, along with the black-out front grille. The mirror caps too are finished in black. The smoked taillights and headlights make the car look more poised and add to its sportiness. The cabin of the car is also finished in black with Alcantara/PVC upholstery and soft-touch materials. The A-pillar, roof, and the air-conditioning vents get a black treatment as well.
The new Qashqai N-TEC Edition will be hauled by a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC) motor which produces 141 bhp and 200 Nm peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) available as an option. The car is equipped with Nissan’s Intelligent Park Assist and ProPilot system. While Nissan offers top-level models with these technologies, they come as part of the standard equipment in the 2020 Qashqai N-TEC Edition. The ProPilot helps the car to maintain its lane, regulate the speed, negotiate traffic bottlenecks and control the distance to the vehicle ahead. The car comes with the NissanConnect infotainment system which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Intelligent Park Assist, meanwhile, manages reverse parking. It has advanced sensors that identify a suitable parking space and executes the maneuver. The driver simply has to regulate the speed. The 360-degree camera’s monitor on the touchscreen helps the driver to view the vehicle’s immediate surroundings.
Nissan Europe’s senior vice-president (research and development) David Moss said that the 2020 Qashqai N-TEC Edition is a continuation of the company’s tradition to offer the best of technology and design.
