Nissan teases next-gen 2020 Juke

ABU DHABI: After almost a decade of its launch in the Geneva Motor Show in 2010, the Nissan Juke is all set to get an overhaul. The new model is scheduled to launch on September 3rd of this year. The model, after its launch in 2010, had become one of the most popular models of Nissan in Europe. With the new shots, it can be suggested that the car is set to have a few changes. Unlike the Nissan Kicks, which is available for the US market, Nissan appears to have retained the original funky design for the European market. The camouflaged car, which was shot, has been very successful in hiding the details. But the overall design with sleek windshield, sloping roof and crossover are appeared to have been retained.

With the earlier spy shots, it was clear that the new Juke 2020 will get LED lighting with three-pointed headlamp unit and edgy chrome-grill and pronounced metal surfaces according to the automaker’s latest brand identity. A lot of components can be borrowed from the Nissan Micra, one the hatchbacks of the company. It might include an attractive dashboard, modern equipment, and a neat layout. The company did drop a few concrete details about the model that includes 19-inch wheels, Nissan ProPILOT technology. The company has also said that it will have more room inside, the latest technology and a “fun to drive” performance.

2020 Juke Side

With the EU's latest environment regulation right at the corner, the model will probably have the Renault-Nissan-Alliance’s flexible CMF-B (Common Module Family – B) platform. The most recent reports say that the customers can expect 1.0- and 1.3-litre gasoline engines. A 1.5-litre diesel should be available as well. It is also suggested that the model can have an electric motor supported by a 9.8 kWh battery pack which would be sufficient for a pure electric driving range of about 30 km. The sales should start either at the end of this year or by the early phases of the next year.
