Nissan showcases new Maxima facelift at 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show
ABU DHABI: Nissan has taken the wraps off the 2019 Maxima facelift at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. The vehicle gets a revised cabin and also features some new safety features.
The four-door sports car comes with Nissan Safety Shield 360 assists, which include Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Automatic Braking, and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. Also, Intelligent Driver Alertness (I-DA) is offered in all the models, while the range-topping models feature High Beam Assist (HBA), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), and Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) as well.
The 2019 Nissan Maxima facelift also gets some significant improvements inside. The dash is completely redesigned and following the same steps the steering wheel, door panels, and speaker grilles now come with a more premium look.
The SR model now features dark satin chrome finishers, “Dynamic Diamond” quilting, and orange stitching and Alcantara accents. Also, it gets Platinum Reserve Package, which contains the Rakuda Tan semi-aniline leather.
The 2019 Nissan Maxima facelift also has Rear Door Alert (RDA), this system reminds the driver to check the rear seat post parking, making sure nothing is left behind. Moreover, Door to Door Navigation system has been provided in all the models of the car excluding the base S model.
The sports car now gets a new front grille, which is larger than before along with a deeper “V-motion” chrome insert. The front bumper features a more curvy look and the fog light inserts are now more prominent. The LED headlight completes the front profile. The car rides on the new optional 19-inch Hyper Silver wheels.
The engine does not tell the same story as the other elements. The 2019 Nissan Maxima facelift continues to have the same 3.5-litre naturally-aspirated VQ V6 mill as earlier. The engine is capable of churning out a maximum of 300 hp power along with a peak torque of 353 Nm. It supports front-wheel drive and comes mated to the Nissan’s Xtronic CVT.
