Nissan Serena receives JCOTY Technology Car of the Year award

ABU DHABI: The Nissan Serena minivan has earned the Technology Car of the Year award at the 2023-2024 Japan Car of the Year awards. 

In the Japanese automotive industry, the JCOTY Awards are considered a benchmark for excellence, and the victory of Nissan Serena in the Technology Car of the Year category showcases its exceptional prowess in incorporating next-gen technology, features, and innovation that align with the consumers’ evolving needs.

The Nissan Serena minivan won this award because of its stand-out features, such as the vehicle’s aerodynamic design, Propilot 2.0 for hands-free highway driving, and an especially built 1.4L three-cylinder engine for e-Power. 

In addition to its impressive technologies, the minivan was also praised for its feature-rich and spacious cabin, providing exceptional comfort to the driver and passengers. The minivan can easily fit up to eight passengers at one time, all thanks to the well-designed multi-purpose centre seat. It comes with a dual rear door that offers lots of convenience, facilitating easy unloading and loading of cargo. Due to the emphasis on user-friendly design and technological innovation, the Serena has become a versatile choice in the minivan category.

The seat design of the Nissan Serena minivan has been improved, minimizing occupant movement. The highly rigid steering wheel contributes to stable handling. The Serena also boasts a second-generation e-Power system contributing to a smooth and powerful acceleration. The innovative e-Pedal Step allows the driver to control the vehicle's speed through the accelerator.

The latest iteration of the Nissan Serena was launched in 2022 in Japan.
