2019 Nissan Sentra - All you need to know
The Nissan Sentra started its journey back in 1982 and is now in its seventh generation for the ongoing model. The car is one of the best selling models in the region as it has been given a very competitive price tag. The cabin is now more spacious, and it is known for its longevity as well as the noticeable brand name. It features in between the larger Altima and the entry-level Sunny sedan.
Interior and the features
The Nissan Sentra maintains simplicity in the interior, albeit, with a lot of space offered inside the cabin. It is equipped with well-cushioned seats that make for comfortable long rides. The cabin is user-friendly too as it comes with some quality convenience features.
The 2019 Sentra gets electric door mirrors and remote keyless entry with push-button start. It will ride on 16-inch alloy wheels. Some of the other features include a multifunction steering wheel, manual air-conditioning system, 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth support, reverse parking sensors with a camera, and a digital driver’s information display.
Speaking of the 2019 Sentra safety features, the vehicle comes with front airbags, VSC (vehicle stability control), and ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution.
Engine and Performance
The 2019 Nissan Sentra is available in two petrol engine trims - a 1.6-litre and a 1.8-litre unit. The smaller one is capable of belting out a maximum power of 115 PS, along with a peak torque of 154 Nm. The larger model is capable of pumping out 132 PS and 174 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are mated on the Xtronic CVT, and the power is sent down to the front wheels.
The 1.6-litre unit is capable of gearing up to a maximum speed of 180 kmph and hit 0-100 kmph in just 10.4 seconds. On the other hand, the 1.8-litre engine has a top speed of 185 kmph and can make the 0 to 100 kmph acceleration in 9.7 seconds. Both of the engine trims are quite good concerning fuel efficiency too, as the 1.6-litre engine offers a mileage of 16.4 kmpl, whereas the 1.8-litre unit provides 14.5 kmpl.
Exterior
Speaking of the exterior, the 2019 Nissan Sentra shares some styling elements with the new Altima which looks appealing to the eyes. The Nissan V-Motion grille is shaped up at the front and is accompanied by stylish headlamps, along with LED daytime running lights on the sides.
Coming to the side profile, some smooth lines are sculpted, and a rising window is also featured. A thick chrome bar and a pair of large wraparound taillamps are the major highlighting parts of the rear profile.
Verdict
The 2019 Nissan Sentra comes at a starting price tag of AED 59,000, while the bigger 1.8-litre variants with features loaded from top to bottom cost up to AED 65,000.
It has the potential to give fierce competition to the rivals, though it won't be easy as the segment has some big names like - Hyundai Elantra, Honda Civic, Volkswagen Jetta, and Renault Megane.
