VINFAST VF8

A premium mid-size SUV that is positioned in the lineup of Vinfast as a more powerful and luxurious offering over the VF 7 mid-size SUV, the Vinfast VF 8 is one of the high-range electric SUVs from the Vietnamese carmaker Vinfast. Globally, the Vinfast VF 8 is being offered in two variants – Eco and Plus, and it is expected that both these variants will arrive in the UAE. 

Having a length of 4750 mm, a width of 1934 mm, and a height of 1667 mm, the Vinfast VF 8 has the footprint of a large mid-size premium SUV. The VF 8 looks fancy with its edgy-looking fascia, which is a combination of large angular headlamps and stretched V-themed LED DRL between them, the latter of which also gets a chrome accent over it. 

Featuring all-LED illumination for its headlamps, the Vinfast VF 8 also has a thin strip of LED fog lamps on the lower corners of the front bumper, which also get chrome accents over them. Having smooth curves over the fenders, the VF 8 has 19-inch alloy wheels in the Eco variant, while the Plus variant has larger 20-inch wheels. At the back, the wide tail lamp cluster of the Vinfast VF 8 includes large rounded rectangular combination LED tail lamps, that are joined by a V-themed connected LED light bar. 

Featuring dual-tone black and tan vegan leather upholstery, the Vinfast VF 8 has a flat-bottom multi-functional steering wheel with gloss black inserts, while the large 15.6-inch rectangular touchscreen infotainment system dominates the centre console. The corners of the dashboard and lower centre console have hexagonal AC vents with dark chrome surrounds.

The Vinfast VF 8 feels like a premium luxury vehicle with its rich equipment list, with this mid-size electric SUV having features like a powered tailgate, 12-way powered driver’s seat with memory settings, 10-way powered co-drivers seat, heated and ventilated seats, 10-speaker audio system with subwoofer, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger and more. 

The single-motor setup of the Eco variant of Vinfast VF 8 claims 349 bhp and 500 Nm, whereas the Plus variant has a dual-motor setup giving it an all-wheel drive configuration with 402 bhp and 620 Nm in the combined mode. The 87.7kWh battery of the Vinfast VF 8 generates a range of 470 km in the Eco variant and 446 km in the Plus variant.  

The Vinfast VF 8 is globally available in six colour choices, namely Brahminy White, Jet Black, Crimson Red, Vinfast Blue, Deep Ocean, and Neptune Grey. It is expected that the UAE-spec Vinfast VF 8 will also come in these six colours. The VF 8 comes across as a more affordable alternative to other electric SUVs like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Tesla Model Y.
