VINFAST VF7

The Vinfast VF 7 is a mid-size electric SUV which is positioned above the VF 6 compact SUV as a more premium, spacious, and more powerful offering. Positioned as a large five-seater electric SUV, the Vinfast VF 7 is globally available in two variants – Eco and Plus, both of which are expected to be also available in the UAE.

Design-wise, the Vinfast VF 7 has a length of 4545 mm, a width of 1890 mm, and a height of 1635 mm, making it look as large as other mid-size SUVs in its category. The frontal profile of the Vinfast VF 7 looks muscular with a contoured bonnet and a wide fascia comprising of a V-themed LED DRL stretching from end to end. 

The trapezoidal housings on the corners of the front bumper accommodate LED projectors with boomerang-shaped LED turn indicators over them, with the entire housings finished in a gloss black theme. The side profile of the VF 7 has a slightly tapering down roofline, with the SUV having 19-inch wheels in the Eco and 20-inch wheels in the Plus variant. At the back, the VF 7 has a scooped roof spoiler, a V-themed LED-connected light bar, and slim and vertical LED tail lamps on the sides. 

Finished in a dual-tone black and brown theme, the cabin of the Vinfast VF 7 has a flat-bottom multi-functional steering wheel, which doesn’t get any instrument console behind it. Instead, the touchscreen system in the centre console – 12.9-inch in the Eco and 15.6-inch in the Plus – serves as the common screen for both the instrument console and infotainment system.  

The spacious cabin of the Vinfast VF 7 is generously equipped with a panoramic roof, vegan leather upholstery, an 8-way powered driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a wireless charger, ambient lighting, and ventilated front seats. The VF 7 also has a host of safety features, including head-up display and Level-2 ADAS. 

The Eco variant of the Vinfast VF 7 has a single motor setup that claims 174 bhp and 250 Nm, whereas the dual-motor setup in the Plus variant generates 349 bhp and 500 Nm in the combined mode. While the 59.6kWh battery of the Eco variant delivers a 375 km range, the 75.3kWh battery pack of the Plus variant gives a range of 431 km (both WLTP-certified).

Available globally in five colours – Brahminy White, Jet Black, Crimson Red, Deep Ocean, and Neptune Grey, the Vinfast VF 7 is expected to be available in the UAE in the same five shades. The Vinfast VF 7 might come in as an affordable alternative to premium mid-size EVs like the Kia EV6, Volvo EX40, Skoda Enyaq, and BMW iX1.
