VINFAST VF6

The VF 6 is the smallest offering set to arrive from Vietnamese car maker Vinfast in the UAE car market. This compact all-electric crossover is globally available in two variants – Eco and Plus, and it is expected that both these variants of the Vinfast VF 6 will be available in the UAE car market.

The Vinfast VF 6 measures 4238mm long, 1820mm wide and 1594mm tall, which gives it the stance and size of a compact crossover SUV. The front profile of the Vinfast VF 6 has a sloping bonnet like a hatchback, which flows down towards a wide fascia that has a stretched V-themed daytime running LED light running across the frontal width. 

The front bumper of the Vinfast VF 6 has large housings for the trapezoidal-shaped headlamps with LED projectors, LED turn indicators and LED fog lamps placed vertically in them. While the Eco variant has 17-inch wheels, the Plus variant gets larger 19-inch wheels, with both variants having the same rear profile with a stretched LED connected light bar across the rear width and separate housings for the main tail lamps. 

The interior layout of the Vinfast VF 6 has been kept simple, with the global-spec version getting a dual-tone black and brown upholstery, which is expected to be offered in the UAE-spec version too. The multi-functional steering wheel has no instrument console behind it. Instead, the VF 6 gets a huge 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, that also has displays for the instrument console data.

The lower centre console has toggle-like buttons for the drive modes, instead of the car having a conventional transmission lever. Features like powered rearview mirrors, driver seat height adjustment, automatic climate control with rear AC vents and a 6-speaker audio system are present in the Vinfast VF 6.

Both the variants of the Vinfast VF 6 have different powertrain setups. The single electric motor setup generates 174 bhp and 250 Nm in the Eco variant and 201 bhp and 310 Nm in the Plus variant. A 59.6kWh battery is offered as standard in both variants, which delivers a 399 km range in the Eco variant and 384 km in the Plus variant (both WLTP-certified).

Given its positioning as a compact electric SUV, the Vinfast VF 6 will be positioned as a direct rival to other similar SUVs like Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV. In other car markets, the Vinfast VF 6 is available in five colour choices – Crimson Red, Brahminy White, Neptune Grey, Vinfast Blue and Deep Ocean, and it is speculated that the UAE-spec VF 6 will also be offered in these five colours.
