NIO EL8

The cabin of the Nio EL8 is being offered in three colour combinations – Graphite Grey, Sepia Brown with Graphite Grey, and Palazzo Beige with Graphite Grey, all of which come with Nappa leather upholstery and microfibre headliner. With a panoramic sunroof, large glass windows, and a wheelbase of over 3 metres, the cabin of the Nio EL8 feels incredibly spacious.

The 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console, 16.3-inch coloured head-up display, and 12.8-inch portrait-styled touchscreen infotainment system make the cabin look high-tech, with all of them having attractive display modes and an easy user interface. For utmost comfort, the cabin of the EL8 has premium luxury features like powered, heated, and ventilated front seats, Ottoman rear seats with refrigerator and wireless chargers between them, multi-zone automatic climate control, six-zone voice control system for the in-car assistant NOMI, waterfall ambient lighting, and 23-speaker surround sound system.

Measuring 5,099 mm long, 2,199 mm wide, and 1,750 mm tall, the Nio EL8 has a massive road presence and stance of a full-size SUV. However, the clean and aerodynamic-looking design language makes it look less intimidating and more futuristic in its appearance. 

The front profile of the Nio EL8 has a smoothly-contoured bonnet with a split headlamp setup for daytime running LEDs above and triangular housings for smart Matrix LED headlamps on the corners of the front bumper. On the side, the front and rear fenders have smooth contours over them, while the door panels have flush-type handles, which further uplift its aerodynamic appeal.

In its UAE-spec version, the Nio EL8 has 21-inch machined alloy wheels with red brake callipers behind them, while also having the charging slot placed on the right front fender. At the back, the Nio EL8 has a long strip of connecting LED light, which connects the similarly-sized LED combination tail lamps, making it look like a single unit. 

The Nio EL8 has a double wishbone setup at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, with this system having dual chamber air suspension and dynamic suspension damping control for optimal ride quality. There are up to ten driving modes offered in the Nio EL8, including Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Custom, Sand, Snow, Wet, Trailer and Easy Pass, all of which deliver specific motor performance and suspension behaviour. 

The UAE-spec Nio EL8 Executive has an all-wheel drive configuration with a dual-motor setup, with the 180kW front-mounted motor and a 300kW rear-mounted motor giving it a combined power output of 653 PS and a combined torque output of 850 Nm. With this dual-motor setup, the Nio EL8 can do the 0-100 kmph run in 4.1 seconds. This version of the Nio EL8 has a 100kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which delivers a maximum range of 510 km (WLTP-certified).

The Nio Assisted and Intelligent Driving (NAD) suite of ADAS features is controlled by Aquila, Nio’s self-developed system comprising 33 high-precision sensors, including a long-range, high-resolution LiDAR, seven 8MP high-resolution cameras, four 3MP enhanced cameras for surround view, one ADMS (Advanced Driver Monitoring System), five millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, redundant high-precision positioning units and V2X.

These elements work together to perform up to 23 ADAS functions, including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Pilot Assist (PAS), Active Lane Change (ALC), Advanced Parking Assist (APA) functions, and more. 

The Nio EL8 has a wide array of functions and features, which combine with the new-age styling and futuristic-looking cabin to make it a cutting-edge modern-day electric SUV that is high on tech.
