KIA EV5

The third electric car from Kia after the EV6 and EV9, the new Kia EV5, is an all-electric midsize SUV that is positioned currently in the UAE as the most affordable electric offering from the Korean car maker. Exclusively made in China under a joint venture named Jiangsu Yueda Kia Motors for the world, the Kia EV5 is available in all of its four variants in the UAE – Light, Air, Earth and GT-Line. The colour options for the UAE-spec Kia EV5 are Iceberg Green, Frost Blue, Starry Night, Snow White, Magma Red, Clear White, Tide Blue, Shale Grey and Ivory Silver. However, the GT-Line variant is exclusively available in dual-tone colour choices – Iceberg Green, Frost Blue, Snow White, Magma Red, Shale Grey and Ivory Silver, with all getting a Starry Black roof. Inspired by the larger EV9, the Kia EV5 also has a boxy and upright stance with a futuristic design. The new Kia EV5 measures 4,615mm long, 1,875mm wide and 1,715mm long while having a wheelbase of 2,750mm. The front profile of the Kia EV5 has small cube projection LED headlamps with triangular lower housings and C-shaped LED DRLs on the sides of the clean-looking closed grille. The upright-looking side profile of the Kia EV5 has squared wheel arches with thick body cladding, automatic flush-type door handles, angular window panels and 19-inch machined aero alloy wheels. The rear profile looks similar to that of the larger EV9, with the EV5 having C-shaped LED combination tail lamps joined by an LED-connected light bar. The interior of the Kia EV5 has dual-tone brown and walnut artificial leather upholstery, with the highlight of the cabin being the gloss black cockpit with 12.3-inch screens for the full-TFT instrument console and touchscreen infotainment system. The centre console here has slim trapezoidal AC vents, which have a sleek panel for the switches of multi-zone automatic climate control above them. The cabin of the Kia EV5 is rich in premium comfort and convenience features, such as powered front seats with heating and ventilation functions, memory and massage function for the driver’s seat, powered tailgate, ambient lighting, 8-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and a wireless charger.
