DONGFENG Shine Max

The flagship sedan from Dongfeng, the Shine Max is a renamed version of the Aeolus Yixuan Max sedan sold in the Chinese car market. For the UAE market, the Dongfeng Shine Max is positioned as a premium mid-size sporty sedan targeted at people who love driving. In terms of dimensions, the Shine Max has a length of 4797 mm, a width of 1870 mm, and a height of 1475 mm, along with a wheelbase of 2770mm, making it the largest sedan from the brand. 

In terms of styling, the Dongfeng Shine Max looks very different from the Shine sedan. The Shine Max has a large and wide hexagonal grille with sharp-edged dark chrome inserts. This grille is accentuated by a thin red-coloured strip above it, while having angular headlamps with LED projectors and LED DRLs within them attached to its upper edge. 

The front and rear fenders of the Dongfeng Shine Max have sharp curves flowing over them, with the sedan having a smoothly contoured roofline. The Shine Max has 17-inch alloy wheels with red-coloured brake callipers behind them. At the back, this midsize sedan has sweptback LED combination tail lamps, which are joined by a long, connected LED light bar between them.

For the UAE car market, the Dongfeng Shine Max will come with an all-black leather upholstery, with contrast red accents on the dashboard and red stitching for the seats and door panels. The cabin feels modern with the presence of a 12.3-inch full-TFT instrument console and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre console.

The centre console of the Dongfeng Shine Max is slightly tilted towards the driver’s side, while also having contrast silver accents on the upper and layer layers of the dashboard. The premium features available in the Shine Max are a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, wireless charger, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and 11-speaker Jamo Danish audio system.

The Dongfeng Shine Max shares its 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with the Shine sedan. With a maximum power output of 188 bhp and a maximum torque output of 300 Nm, this engine gives Dongfeng Shine Max a top speed of 200 kmph and a fuel efficiency of 20.2 kmpl. 

In other car markets, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Dongfeng Shine Max is being offered in five colour options – blue, white, grey, black, and red, all of which are expected to be offered in the UAE car market as well. The Shine Max will be positioned above the Shine sedan and will compete with sportier sedans like the Hyundai Elantra N and the Honda Civic Type-R.
