Volvo reveals 2020 XC40 Recharge, it’s all-electric

The Swedish automaker has revealed its first-ever all-electric car, the 2020 XC 40 Recharge. It is also the first vehicle to be displayed in the company’s brand new Recharge line concept. The 2020 XC40 Recharge is a fully-electric vehicle with the all-wheel-drive system that is capable of producing a max power of 414 PS and offering a range of 400 km on a single charge. Volvo says that on a fast-charger system, the XC40 Recharge’s battery can be charged to 80 percent of its capacity in about 40 minutes.

The 2020 XC40 Recharge gets a new Google’s Android-powered infotainment system that is fully integrated with Volvo on Call. For unawares, Volvo on Call is the brand’s digital connected services platform. Plug-in hybrid drivers can track time, the car was on electric mode via the Volvo on Call.

According to Volvo, it will launch an all-electric car every year for the next five years. This is to make fully electric cars 50 percent of its total global sales by 2025. Additionally, the company plans to make plug-in hybrids 20 percent of its total sales by 2020. For your information, Volvo is the only car manufacturer that offers a plug-in variant for each of its fuel-powered cars in its line-up.
