Hyundai is all set to stage its Kona concept at the upcoming 2019 SEMA (Speed Equipment Manufacturing Association) show in Las Vegas alongside the VelosterRaptor. Not just this, the brand has bigger plans. Hyundai has partnered with Rockstar Performance Garage to produce the Ultimate Kona Concept. Read on to know the details.
For the Ultimate Kona Concept, a turbocharged AWD variant has been deployed. The black Kona Concept has been modified with extravagant components like 16-inch Motegi rally wheels that come wrapped with race-grooved 30-inch Mickey Thompson tyres. Additionally, it gets King suspension units and R1 Concepts’ pads and performance rotors.
The list of enhancements is not limited as the Ultimate Kona Concept gains Baja Design LED lights that have been positioned on the radiator grille at the front. Moreover, on the outside, it gets Bulletliner coating for protection from off-roading dirt and dust. Inside, the Ultimate Kona Concept is bestowed with Kicker audio system, Scosche smartphone mounts and Roadwire seats with the alligator-like finish.
At the core, the Ultimate Kona Concept gets K&N filters billet intake, Magnaflow exhaust and Race Chip performance tuning kit. The stock variant is a turbocharged 1.6-litre Gamma engine that produces a max power of 177 PS at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 264 Nm between 1,500 and 4,500 rpm, coupled with a 7-speed EcoShift DCT (dual-clutch transmission). The output figures of the modified version haven’t been revealed yet.
