The third-generation Audi Q5 will be unveiled on September 2, with sales anticipated to take place soon after.Audi will unveil the new Q5 on September 2, 2024, but ahead of that, the automaker has teased the next-gen model’s image, showcasing only the side headlight of the driver. The upper section of the headlight features LED daytime running lamps positioned above the Matrix LED unit. The lower part of the headlight includes a projector that is likely to serve as the main headlight. While extensive details have not been revealed in the teaser, its main aim is to build anticipation for the new Q5’s upcoming reveal.
The powertrain details of the new Audi Q5 have not been disclosed yet, but it’s anticipated that the model will not come with an electric option. Globally, the new Q5 will be offered in diesel and petrol engines with 48V mild-hybrid technology. Additionally, at least one plug-in hybrid will also be offered providing an electric-only range of around 100 km. Higher trims will come as standard with Audi’s Quattro AWD system, while base models will have front-wheel drive. It is unlikely that a manual transmission will be available.
As per Audi’s new naming system in which even numbers are assigned to EVs and odd numbers to gasoline versions, the new Q5 will follow the same pattern. Therefore, there is no chance of the production of the fully electric Q5. However, you can expect to have hybrid options, along with traditional gasoline engines.
Inside, the new Q5 is expected to have the dual-screen infotainment setup that you can find in the Q6 e-tron. This includes a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, both powered by the latest operating system of Audi.
The third-generation Audi Q5 will be launched on September 2, with sales anticipated to take place soon after. According to Gernot Döllner, Audi’s CEO the launch of Q5 will be followed by updates to the remaining variants in the SUV lineup, so you can expect in the months ahead many new high-riding models.
