BMW 7 Series LCI new photos leaked
ABU DHABI: New photos of the BMW 7 Series have surfaced the Internet. This is not the first time that we have seen the new 7 Series but this time it is from Munich’s online configurator. The upcoming 7 Series facelift can be seen in Life Cycle Impulse (LCI) form, courtesy the well-known BMW specialist website, BMWBlog.
From earlier leaks and news it was quite evident that the new sedan will embrace a revamped design at both, front and rear ends. Nothing has changed with these images making their way out. The upcoming 7 Series features a larger and not so usual kidney grille, new hexagonal corona ring DRLs inside the updated slimmer headlights, and a new central air intake that forms a clean V shape.
The corners of the reprofiled front bumper get Air Curtain inlets. The triple section air intake design remains, though in a more aggressive avatar. The air-breathers near the front wheels have been positioned in more upright manner.
The rear section gets a full-width LED strip that connects wraparound sleek L-shaped taillights. Additionally, the rear bumper has been restyled to complement the more powerful and bolder front profile. Moreover, it features 20-inch alloys and Cerium Gray highlights like its predecessor. The blue highlights on the sedan hint at the company’s Laserlight technology as an option.
Inside the cabin, the new sedan is expected to come with a completely new interface and an instrument cluster that’s fully digital. There would also be an advanced 7.0 iDrive infotainment system.
Powering the new BMW 7 Series would be the similar set of engines, including the 3.0-litre straight six and V8 turbo 4.0-litre. Expect a V12 6.6-litre Biturbo on the M variant. What’s differentiating in the engine department would be the inclusion of the plug-in hybrid model that would be similar to the X5 xDrive45e. Since the range offered by the X5 hybrid is close to 80 km, we expect the new 7 Series hybrid to offer anywhere around the same mark or beyond. We’ll have to wait and see.
