Given this technological leap, the long-wheelbase BMW 5 Series of the Indian market version does not include this feature.
Senior VP of BMW Group, Jean-Philippe Parain explained that the difficulty with assembling the 5 Series in India led to the panoramic display’s exclusion. However, BMW is not excluding this feature for India and is looking for ways to introduce it later. Currently, on the long-wheelbase 5 Series in China, the screen is available, making it the second car to feature it globally.

It can be paired with Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound systems or Harman/Kardon and is built on Android. The Theatre Screen features automatic dark blinds on the rear and sides, and it can be adjusted for optimal viewing. This feature is missing from the India-spec 5 Series. To reduce motion sickness, it allows limited outside visibility.
BMW has not come up with a timeline for launching this feature on the 5 Series LWB, but its addition would partially compensate for the lack of adjustable rear backrests and attract significant attention.
