All-new 2021 Nissan Patrol spotted in UAE
ABU DHABI: Nissan had updated the Patrol quite a long time ago. The current model, named Y62 Patrol, has been in the market since 2010, getting updates during the course of last decade. The thing that compelled us to talk about this nameplate is the all-new 2021 Nissan Patrol, which has been spotted while being tested in UAE.
The car is likely to retain the same 5.6-litre V8 petrol mill, while the entry-level versions may come with V6. Having said this, the rumors are not enough to suggest that the car will also get an electric version. Even, it looks like that the carmaker also has no intention of providing such variant, as adding a battery pack and electric motors will make the vehicle heavy. On top of that buyers are also least interested in saving fuel.
We may not have an all-electric variant, but it will not be a big surprise if the brand unveils a hybrid or plug-in hybrid version in other markets. It will help to reduce the carmaker’s emission footprints. However, all these are explicit rumours as we are yet to get any official confirmation from the company.
Designing wise, the spotted 2021 Nissan Patrol schleps a heavy black covering. The features that can be identified include LED headlights and a new front grille. It is rumoured that the four-wheeler will stick to the car’s tough exterior except some minor modifications.
To recall, the current Nissan Patrol is available in two engine options, the first one being a six-cylinder 4.0-litre unit, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 275 hp along with a peak torque of 395 Nm. The other is an eight-cylinder 5.6-litre mill that delivers a maximum power of 400 hp and a peak torque of 560 Nm.
The next-gen 2021 Nissan Patrol is expected to hit the market in 2020, while the sales may begin from 2021.
