2019 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss built with Lego bricks

ABU DHABI: The American automaker, Chevrolet has constructed a full-size model of the recently unveiled all-new Silverado Trail Boss with more than 300,000 Lego bricks, 334,544 pieces to be precise. The pickup was officially revealed at the 2019 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).

The full-size Chevy pickup made up of Lego bricks took more than 2,000 hours for the company to assemble. This is an insane level of effort put in by the makers. And no wonder the final product is so admirable.

Measuring 6.1 metres in length, 2.4 metres in width, and 1.8 metres in height, the Lego avatar of the all-new Silverado Trail Boss tips the scales at a whopping 1,500 kg. It is a red colored pickup with the majority of the 2x8 red brick used. To build this incredible pickup, a total of 18 Lego masters devoted their time hand-picking the required pieces and placing them in a skilful manner.

The Lego bricks-powered Silverado is certainly a masterclass and all thanks to the creators who detailed it perfectly. Even the ‘Chevrolet’ lettering, logo and ‘Silverado’, ‘Trail Boss’ badging have been replicated.

The director of Chevrolet Truck Marketing, Sandor Piszar said, “The themes of determination and teamwork in the new movie align perfectly with our Chevy brand values and we are sure that the all-new Silverado has the features, technologies and strength that would help Emmet, Lucy and their friends as they take on exciting new challenges.”

He concluded by stating that it’s been a thrilling partnership with Warner Bros and Lego which began with Chevy-built Lego Batmobile back in 2017 with the release of The Lego Batman Movie. Now, the mini custom-made Silverado is set to make an appearance in the second part, The Lego movie: The Second Part releasing on February 8.

The new Silverado is powered by an eight-cylinder 5.3-litre engine that churns out 360 PS of max power and 519 Nm of peak torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, it gets industry-first Dynamic Fuel Management system, which is responsible for shutting down the unnecessary cylinders based on different situations. All been done to optimize and enhance fuel economy.
