What’s New in the Hyundai Tucson 2025: A Detailed Overview

The Hyundai Tucson is amongst the most successful compact crossovers in the market. The model gained even more traction in the Middle East in its third-generation iteration, when it was based on the Elantra’s platform. The all-new fourth-generation Tucson was launched in 2020, with the latest facelift carried out for 2025.

In the UAE, the Hyundai Tucson 2025 finds competition in the Kia Sportage, Honda CR-V, Nissan X-Trail, and Toyota RAV4. The new Tucson is based on the Hyundai-Kia N3 architecture, which it shares with the new Sportage. As one of the best-selling Hyundai cars in the world, the Tucson crossover clearly has its niche already carved out.

Variants & Price

The pre-facelift Tucson was available in about six variants. These included the Smart 2.0 (FWD), Smart 2.0 (AWD), Comfort 2.0 (FWD), Comfort 2.0 (AWD), Premium 1.6T (FWD), and Tucson Premium 1.6T (AWD). The price of the Hyundai Tucson 2024 in the UAE varied from around AED 85,000 to AED 135,000.

The Hyundai Tucson 2025 should be offered with a similar variant spread in the UAE. The Tucson facelift could be more expensive, possibly starting at around AED 90,000. There’s also a Tucson Hybrid 2025, which will be pricier still, especially at the higher end. Some markets get the Tucson N Line, though that hasn’t been confirmed for the UAE.

Exterior

One of the most notable exterior attributes of the Hyundai Tucson 2025 is its new Parametric Jewel design up front. The new grille and Hyundai logo are both finished in dark chrome. Adding more substance and boldness to this face are the newer & larger integrated LEDs – eight compared to the previous ten.

Hyundai has updated the front bumper, which now looks more aggressive and sportier. The revised lower apron adds to the sportiness, though it has a comparable design for the headlights and air breathers. The tight shutlines all around continue to impressive and are indicative of good build quality. The Tucson facelift carries on with Hyundai’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language.

There are a few new wheel designs, but their sizes still vary between 17-19 inches. The geometrically-sharp body panels play tricks with your mind as they bounce the surrounding light around. As for the rising shoulder line, it results in the car sporting a ‘pitched forward’ stance, which looks athletic.

The Tucson 2025’s rear boasts a connected LED strip as part of the 3D-design LED taillights. The latter features interesting vertical claw-like extensions, too. There’s a stylish roof spoiler which, in this case, neatly hides the rear wiper. The outgoing Tucson is 4,500 mm long, 1,865 mm wide, 1,650 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,680 mm.

Interior

The Hyundai Tucson 2025’s cabin can be optioned with mono-tone or dual-tone themes, with cloth or leather upholstery. The revised dash stretches further into the windscreen, but the wrap-around design is a little less convincing this time. However, the curved displays do help a little. The new dash offers an open storage shelf, which is a thoughtful addition.

The new three-spoke steering wheel features a four-dot Morse code instead of the conventional Hyundai logo. The overhauled center stack area features physical controls for the HVAC system and other infotainment-related buttons & knobs. Hyundai has removed the gear selector from the center console – a shift-by-wire column-type shifter is placed on the steering wheel. There are paddle shifters, too.

The new center console features physical buttons to control the car’s sensors, cameras, drive modes, etc. It also houses a wireless charger, two cupholders, and a storage cubby. There are USB data and charging ports, along with more storage space along the center aisle. Along with the two screens, the Tucson 2025 can be had with a fingerprint authentication panel.

This can be used to lock/unlock the car, start the engine, activate valet mode, etc. The Tucson 2025 gets dual-zone climate control, heated & cooled front seats, LED ambient lighting, and a twin-pane panoramic sunroof. The new Panoramic Curved Display includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Tucson gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Depending on the market, the Hyundai Tucson 2025’s boot space is between 577–1,096 liters. This is fairly roomy and practical, and the split-folding seats increase the overall luggage space even more. The rear seats are comfortable and aren’t lacking legroom or headroom. There are rear AC vents, USB charging ports, a center armrest w/ cupholders, plus seatback storage.

Engine and performance

The Hyundai Tucson 2025 has several powertrain choices, but they’re understandably market-dependent. The UAE-spec Tucson 2025 is likely to get some familiar options. The base 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine has 154 hp and 192 Nm, mostly paired to a 6-speed automatic. Earlier, this resulted in a top speed of 181 kmph and a 0-100 kmph time of 11.4 seconds.

There is a 1.6-liter turbo-petrol with 178 hp and 265 Nm, mated to a 7-speed DCT. This means a top speed of 201 kmph and a 0-100 kmph time of 8.8 seconds. The Tucson Hybrid has the 1.6-liter turbo-petrol plus an electric motor which, in itself, makes 64 hp and 264 Nm. The expected top speed is over 190 kmph.

Safety

The Hyundai Tucson 2025 has adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, emergency braking, lane-departure alert, blind-spot warning, 360-degree cameras, etc. Then there’s Hyundai’s Blind-Spot View Monitor and Rear Occupant Alert, among others. There are 6 airbags, hill-hold assist, electronic stability program, and ISOFIX anchors.

Conclusion

The Hyundai Tucson 2025 incorporates several changes that make it a far more competitive car than its precursor. Its sharp design and extensive equipment list make it a compelling option in the segment. If available, the new Tucson Hybrid makes even more sense as it adds even more features!
