Maxus D90 Interior & Features
The 2024 Maxus G10 gets a flowing dashboard draped in double-stitched, quilted tan leather and brushed aluminum trim with a number of layers. All seats are of leather. A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with a 12-speaker audio system dominates the dashboard. There's an 8.0-inch full-colour driver information display screen. The cabin also has three-zone climate control and 12-color ambient lighting. The 2024 Maxus G10 comes with 343 litres of boot space with all three rows up. That's among the best in class. Folding down the third row further increases the luggage space. The powered tailgate provides hands-free opening, while a retractable luggage cover stows away under the boot floor. There are a number of cubby holes in the cabin that offer convenient storage options. All physical buttons are ergonomically placed and easy to operate.
D90 Exterior
The 2024 Maxus D90 has a rugged appearance. The front is dominated by a huge wave-style radiator and a brushed metal grille with a chrome frame integrated into the front bumper. This forges a sporty look. The car is 5m long and 2m wide, making it one of the biggest members in its segment. It's a truly massive SUV by all proportions. The Maxus D90 gets projector headlights. The sculpted bonnet looks attractive. The chrome garnish extends upwards at the C-pillar and joins the roof rails. The rear end gets dummy quad-exhausts. The entire car gets a lot of chrome. The side of the car gets wide side steps and power-folding, body-colored, adjustable, and heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals. The 2024 Maxus D90 gets all-round LED lighting. The tail door is electrically operated. The black rear bumper gets a brake light.
Maxus D90 Ride & Handling
The 2024 Maxus D90 has a hugely spacious cabin. The two front seats are power-adjustable, heated, and generously cushioned. The driver’s seat gets ventilation and massage function. During long drives, the lumbar support, even at its lowest setting, seems somewhat excessive, and all-around cushioning gets a bit stiff. The second row gets captain's seats with ample headroom and legroom. It comes with a long-range fore-aft sliding. Even with both seats pushed back the farthest, there's ample legroom on the bench-type third row. All seats get cupholders and storage spaces. The third row gets a dedicated climate control zone. Since it's a high-riding car, the seven-seater SUV has some amount of body roll. But the suspension is super-soft and suppresses all broken roads and bumps sans flinching.
D90 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The entry-level 2024 Maxus D90 Elite is hauled by a turbocharged, four-cylinder, 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 120 PS/375 Nm. The motor is mated to a six-speed automatic. The car gets – Sand, Rock, Snow, and Mud driving modes that can be accessed from the dial on the central console. While the engine is powerful, it isn't particularly refined. The transmission can be controlled by paddle shifters that really come in handy to drop gears during overtakes.
Maxus D90 Braking & Safety
The 2024 Maxus D90 gets a feature-packed driver-assist system that includes a 360-degree camera, driver fatigue detector, auto parking assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, pedestrian detector, and three-point seatbelts, along with other standard safety features. Images from the all-around camera aren't great, though.
D90 Verdict
The 2024 Maxus D90 Elite comes as a pleasant surprise. It's a feature-packed car, much in the league of its European and Japanese counterparts. The build quality is solid. It's a spacious car when most midsized SUVs have cramped seating. Riding comfort is great, and the 2024 Maxus D90 is a superb highway cruiser. While the price may be at a premium, it's still a worthy car for those who want to travel in comfort.
