Hyundai ELANTRA N

The cabin of the Hyundai Elantra N has also been updated with a host of sporty add-ons and tweaks to make sure one feels like he/she is sitting in a car which has been designed for those who love to be behind the steering wheel.

The Elantra N has a range of sportier elements like N lightweight sport bucket seats with leatherette upholstery and microsuede inserts. The driver is welcomed by an N leather-wrapped steering wheel with N mode buttons, N transmission lever, aluminium N door scuff plates and aluminium pedals.

Behind the N steering wheel, the Hyundai Elantra N has a 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console with N-specific gloss black surrounds and display modes here, and the same treatment has also been carried forward for the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system placed adjacent to the instrument console. 

The lower centre console of the Hyundai Elantra N’s cabin has a wraparound design and houses sleek buttons for the dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging pad and transmission lever. The Elantra N also has comfort features like powered and heated front seats, a sunroof and an 8-speaker BOSE audio system.

Retaining the design of the seventh-generation Elantra for the sportier Elantra N, Hyundai has given it a host of specific add-ons and tweaks to ensure that it exudes a very sporty aura in its appearance.

The aggressive and sharp-looking front fascia of the Hyundai Elantra N features a gloss black wide grille with edgy-looking LED headlamps placed beside it, and blacked-out accents for the front bumper, which features sportier housings for the fog lamps over the regular Elantra. This performance sedan also gets a sportier lip spoiler with contrast red accents for an added dash of wildness. 

The side profile of the Hyundai Elantra N has parametric surfaces from the regular Elantra sedan, which makes the sedan look sharp and energetic. The 19-inch machined alloy wheels with low-profile Michelin tyres and red-coloured side mouldings having N logos also contribute to the sporty stance of the Elantra N. At the back, the Hyundai Elantra N has a wing-type gloss black spoiler, N rear bumper with red diffuser and dual-port exhaust setup over the regular Elantra, while retaining its full-length LED tail lamp.

The Hyundai Elantra N has a sport-tuned, stiffer-set suspension setup, comprising Macpherson struts at the front and multi-link at the rear. This suspension setup is electronically controlled, featuring electronic limited-slip differential and drive modes like Eco, Normal, Sport and N. The steering wheel of the Elantra N has a specific N button for changing the steering and suspension feedback.

Powering the Hyundai Elantra N is the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which is there in the regular Elantra. However, it is in its most powerful state of tune in this performance-oriented version of the sedan, claiming a maximum power output of 280 bhp and a peak torque output of 392 Nm. The Elantra N has a top speed of 250 kmph, with it also capable of doing the 0-100 km run in 5.3 seconds.

There are two transmission options available for the Hyundai Elantra N – a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, with both transmissions getting assistance from the N Grin shift for a 20-second turbo boost. Further enhancing the performance of the Elantra N are the N PowerShift for a dynamic push feel while upshifting and downshifting and the N Track SenseShift for more spirited driving. 

The comprehensive Level-2 ADAS suite of the Hyundai Elantra N has a range of advanced safety features like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Driver Attention Warning, Safe Exit Warning, Lane Following Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist and Parking Distance Warning — Reverse. The Elantra N also has other essential safety features like six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, traction control, a 360-degree parking camera, hill hold assist and electronic stability control.
