The Xiaomi SU7’s upcoming production version, slated for 2025, will have a more subtle styling in comparison to its aggressive prototype. The standard SU7 is equipped with two electric motors that deliver a 0-100 kmph time of 2.78 seconds and 495 kW. In the Ultra version performance has improved with three motors, including one V6s and two V8s, achieving a combined 1139kW which is double the Porsche Taycan Turbo S power in standard configuration.
As per the claims made by Xiaomi, the SU7 Ultra prototype takes 1.97 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 kmph reaching 350 kmph top speed. It hits 300 kmph in 15.07 seconds and surpasses 200 kmph in 5.96 seconds.
The car also comes with a 'Qilin II' battery that has been co-developed with CATL, having the capability of discharging up to 1330kW in order to power its three motors operating at 897 volts. It weighs around 1900kg and utilizes carbon-fibre panels to reduce weight compared to the regular model by over 500kg.
The SU7 Ultra features a stripped-down interior lacking air conditioning. It comes with new lightweight aluminium and composite chassis components. It boasts aggressive aerodynamics, adding 101mm in width (to 2064mm), 263mm in length (to 5260mm), and lowering by 49mm (to 1406mm). The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is equipped with six-piston AP Racing brakes with 32mm rear and 42mm front discs that can endure over 800 degrees Celsius. With the help of its regenerative braking, it can achieve up to 0.6g deceleration.
A production version is expected to be released with toned-down aerodynamics in 2025, while the prototype version has been designed to challenge Nurburgring lap times.
