Lexus has officially premiered the 2025 RZ, a battery-electric luxury SUV that pushes the boundaries of performance, technology, and efficiency. Unveiled in Brussels, the new RZ comes with significant upgrades, including a revised battery system for better range and charging, as well as a new high-performance F SPORT variant.

    Enhanced Power and Efficiency

The 2025 Lexus RZ benefits from a completely revised battery system, improving both range and charging speed. Lexus has increased the battery’s capacity to 77.0 kWh, allowing an estimated 100 km boost in driving range. Additionally, the adoption of a 22 kW AC onboard charger and a new battery pre-conditioning system ensures faster charging, even in colder temperatures.

The new RZ lineup has three power options:

    • RZ 350e: 224 hp (165 kW).
    • RZ 500e: 380 hp (280 kW).
    • RZ 550e F SPORT: 408 hp (300 kW).

With an improved eAxle system and water-cooled battery technology, the RZ enhances acceleration, efficiency, and also doubles its towing capacity to 1,500 kg.

    Lexus’ First Steer-by-Wire System

For the first time, Lexus introduces steer-by-wire technology in the RZ. Instead of a traditional mechanical connection, this system uses electric signals to control the front wheels, offering a more precise and intuitive steering experience. The unique rectangular steering design provides better visibility while enhancing driving control on both city roads and highways. Lexus has also fine-tuned the DIRECT4 drive control system for smoother and more stable handling.

    The F SPORT Experience

Lexus expands the RZ lineup with the introduction of the RZ 550e F SPORT. This model stands out with its 408 hp output and the debut of Lexus’ Interactive Manual Drive, a virtual gear-shifting system that simulates the feel of a traditional manual transmission. Using paddle shifters, drivers can manually control power output, with realistic engine sound and visual feedback enhancing the experience.

On the outside, the F SPORT variant gets a more aggressive look with aerodynamic enhancements, including unique bumpers, brake ducts, and 20-inch aero-design wheels. The exclusive Neutrino Grey exterior color adds to its sporty appeal. Inside, the cabin features F SPORT-exclusive trim with Black and Dark Grey upholstery accented with blue stitching.

    Luxurious and Quiet Cabin

Lexus has gone the extra mile to ensure a quiet and refined cabin experience in the 2025 RZ. Additional soundproofing materials, a new floor silencer, and improved insulation reduce road and wind noise. The panoramic roof now includes a dimming function to enhance comfort in bright conditions.

Lexus also introduces laser-processed Ultrasuede door panels made from 30% plant-based materials, combining sustainability with luxury. The new ambient lighting system now features dynamic shadow effects that change with time, creating a more immersive cabin atmosphere.

    Launch and Market Availability

The 2025 Lexus RZ is set to arrive in European markets from autumn 2025, with further global rollouts expected. While pricing details for the UAE are yet to be announced, the RZ will compete with premium electric SUVs like the Tesla Model Y, BMW iX, and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV.
