A Bold Makeover for the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

Japanese tuning house WALD International has officially launched the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Black Bison Edition at the 2025 Osaka Auto Messe. The special edition brings a rugged, aggressive look to the already popular off-roader, featuring a range of exterior modifications.

Last year, WALD teased digital renderings of two versions: a lifted off-road model and a lowered street-performance variant. However, only the off-road-focused version has been revealed in real life, aligning with the Prado’s reputation as a capable adventure vehicle.

Key Exterior Upgrades

The Black Bison Edition introduces several bold styling enhancements:

• Redesigned front bumper with intricate air intakes and LED daytime running lights.
• Aluminium skid plate for added underbody protection.
• Large hood scoop for an aggressive, performance-inspired look.
• Roof-mounted aerodynamic fins with integrated LED lights.
• Wide fender flares accommodating off-road wheels and mud-terrain tyres.
• Lift kit and widened tracks, improving stance and off-road capability.

At the rear, WALD has added a sporty diffuser with decorative vents, along with a wing mounted on the rear spoiler. While its functional benefits remain unclear, it certainly enhances the Prado’s visual appeal.

No Performance Upgrades – Yet

Despite the aggressive new look, WALD has not announced any mechanical upgrades. The UAE market exclusively offers the turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine, while the turbo-diesel variant is sold in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. A hybrid version is available in select non-GCC markets, but WALD has not indicated whether any tuning options will be introduced.

The absence of performance upgrades might disappoint some enthusiasts, but the modifications still improve off-road capability by increasing ground clearance and stability.

Availability and Pricing Unclear

WALD has yet to confirm pricing details for the Black Bison kit, and it remains uncertain whether the package will be sold outside Japan. Given the Land Cruiser Prado’s immense popularity in the UAE and GCC, there’s a strong possibility that some units could make their way into the region through specialized importers.
