Toyota issues recall for over 250 Land Cruiser 300 SUVs in India

ABU DHABI:  Over 250 units of the Land Cruiser 300 SUV have been recalled in India by Toyota as a precautionary measure to address issues with the automatic transmission’s electronic control unit. This proactive step reflects the dedication of the brand to maintaining the reliability and safety of its vehicles, prioritizing the customers' well-being. 

According to Toyota, 269 Land Cruiser LC300 units, manufactured between February 12, 2021, and February 1, 2023, have been recalled. Toyota will contact the affected Land Cruiser 300 SUV owners and encourage them to bring their vehicles for a software update to authorized service centers.

To rectify the issue, Toyota will reprogram the affected vehicles' ECUs. This reprogramming will resolve any malfunctions or potential issues within the transmission system, ensuring the reliability and safety of the vehicles. Toyota won’t charge anything for the software update.

Toyota has also encouraged the owners of the Land Cruiser 300 SUV to check if their vehicle is among those recalled by visiting Toyota’s website and entering their unique Vehicle Identification Number in the Safety Recall section. For more assistance, they can even call 1800 309 0001 to connect with their customer assistance center. 

The Land Cruiser LC300 is available in the UAE with more powerful and hi-tech powertrains. It is based on the GA-F body-on-frame platform of the brand and retains its predecessors' off-road capabilities and macho design.
