Toyota GT86 TRD Special Edition to be launched in limited numbers
ABU DHABI: Toyota is here with a slightly revised GT86 sporty car for the latest upgrade. The company says that it would be arriving later this year (2018) and would be later joined by the Special Edition 2019 GT86 TRD.
The upcoming Toyota GT86 would be driven on 17-inch alloy wheels while the TRD Special Edition would be getting bigger 18-inch units. The special model will even have the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres wrapped on the wheels.
According to Toyota, the new GT86 TRD is designed to be the ultimate performance vehicle that is given the company’s newest components like the SACHS dampers, which are meant to sharpen the stability and handling, along with the new Brembo brakes.
Apart from the performance upgrade on the special edition Toyota GT86, the company has also given it the TRD body kit which includes the bumpers, large rear spoiler and diffuser along with revised side skirts. Raven Black is the only colour option available. However, there is tri-colour body stripe and a new TRD exhaust system.
On the inside of Toyota’s GT86 TRD Special Edition, there is a dual-tone theme - black and red on the steering and sports seats. Additionally, there are red stitchings on the seats along with the contrasting seat belts, which add to the sportiness.
The power in the special edition GT86 TRD is derived from an identical 2.0-litre engine, which can make 205 hp power. As for the transmission, there is either a 6-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual doing the duties under the hood.
Toyota will be limiting the Special Edition GT86 TRD to just 1,418 units and the price in the United States of America would start at USD 32,420. However, its availability in the Middle East is still not confirmed.
