Say hello to 2020 Lexus GX 460

ABU DHABI: Lexus has unveiled the 2020 GX 460 that comes with a new spindle grille, which is more gaping than ever. The iconic grill is taller and wider, injecting boldness to the vehicle. The cars also come along with a new off-road specific package. Moreover, in the 2020 model year, the safety techs have been revamped by the manufacturer.

Although the 2020 GX 460’s update is not all about the grille, it is the most notable customization among the other changes. Other than this, the SUV comes with a new triple-beam LED headlamps as a standard feature. Thereafter, the car features a Sport Design Package that includes 19-inch alloy wheels with Gunmetal Metallic finish, a new lower grille surround, side mirrors, and rear valence.

The new SUV also can wear a new Off-Road package, which makes it stand out from the crowd. A 360-degree camera is provided in the list that also helps to the view from underneath the 2020 GX 460. There is also a Crawl Control with different settings, which helps to set the throttle of the car and brakes at low speeds along with improving the traction during driving through rough terrain. The package also includes Multi-Terrain Select that contains all the off-road driving modes. Also, the car equips a fuel-tank protector and a transmission cooler.

Inside the cabin, the car gets a Rioja Red leather as a new option, while all the other features are the same as its predecessor. An 8.0-inch touchscreen display is placed on the centre of the dash. Mechanically, the car follows the same path as interior as it gets the same 4.6-litre V8 engine, which can push out a maximum power of 301 PS along with a peak torque of 446 Nm. The power is sent to all the four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

The new SUV will get the brand’s own Safety System+ suite that is present on all the other Lexus vehicles. It contains automatic high-beams, lane-departure warning, pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control.
