Perodua unveils EM-O EV concept at the Malaysia Auto Show 2023
ABU DHABI: Following a subtle tease, the Perodua Electric Motion-Online (EM-O) concept was unveiled at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023. The car on display is a 1:6 scale small clay iteration of the upcoming EV.

The five-door hatchback has a fully local design to cater to the needs of the local audience. The upcoming Perodua hybrid is destined to arrive by next year. It will introduce high-voltage cabling and motor and battery-related technology to local vendors.
Perodua EM-O EV Concept comes with a 50-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and will deliver an impressive 300 km - 350 km range. It spans a wheelbase of 2,500 mm and measures 1,735 mm in width, 3,895 mm in length, and 1,515 mm in height.
What impresses the most is its dual 400V / 800V electrical architecture enabling a maximum charging capacity of 300 kW, which is higher than the one found in the Porsche Taycan.
Perodua CEO Datuk Zainal Abidin said, “The actual concept car will be developed pretty soon, if not the end of this year, then maybe the early part of next year. Why this actual concept car? Because we want customers to feel and sit inside it.” He further added that the clay iteration of the EV will help the customers better understand the car.
