Pagani Zonda Riviera auctioned for $5.5 million
A Riyadh Season car auction conducted by Silverstone Auctions at the Riyadh Motor Show left everyone with a feeling of astonishment. It was one of the biggest attractions of the show, where auto enthusiasts were given a chance to place a bid for their beloved cars, ranging from classics to modified, from rare to futuristic cars. Brands like Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Pagani and more took part in the auction, staging their stunning productions.
While the Pagani Zonda Riviera was sold for $5.5 million, the Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 ANS got the highest bid of $3.4 million. The Zonda Riviera, powered by a V12 AMG 7.3-litre M297, capable of producing a max power of 770 PS, was also available for auction. It was the first Zonda to make its presence at a car auction since 2011, where the Zonda C12 was sold for a whopping £320,500.
Out of a total of 68 cars that went under the hammer, only 18 were marked sold. Unfortunately, performance cars like Lamborghini Diablo VT, Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach, Ferrari 599 GTZ Zagato Nibbio Spyder, McLaren P1 Carbon Edition and Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman amongst others did not find any buyer.
Aston Martin Rapide AMR was taken by the Brazilian soccer star, Ronaldinho, who also became the first buyer at the Riyadh Season car auction in the show.
