Nissan Patrol - All you need to know
Redesigned with a mild facelift, the latest SUV model, Nissan Patrol is the new chocolate hero going bad boy. With small updates included every year, Patrol displayed itself to be a major host of new accessories like modified roof rails, rear and front diffuser, and fender flares. The add-ons are too good to be true but on a good note are way impressive than any of its previous versions.
However, the good news does not come to an end here. Creating a sensation across the streets of Abu Dhabi, the upgraded Nissan Patrol 2020 made its global debut this year.
Nonetheless, price is also a factor that most buyers look for when planning to invest in a good SUV. Most people have the same genre of questions when skimming through the full details of a car. Will the price be justified comparative to the features? Are there any better and affordable options? Aren’t there any hidden charges? Well, here is a piece of detailed information about the Nissan Patrol that will remove your confusion.
Price
2020 Nissan Patrol is available in eight variants. Here is a look at the Nissan Patrol price in UAE -
Engine
Patrol’s base version, XE, has certain prototypical factors that make it one of the strongest engines in Nissan’s car segment. Nissan while updating and creating high-end model cars has also included a feature, Hydraulic Body Motion Control. This ensures reduced vibration, noise, and a more comfortable ride.
Its motor capability is at par with MPFI or intake manifold / multipoint fuel supply system, but what about its mileage? Well, Patrol uses a mere 11.8 litres of petrol to travel 100 kilometres. Its top speed reaches up to 200 kmph within 11.5 seconds.
Exterior Design
This 8-seater car is available in various colours like gold beige, Hermosa blue, black, metallic slate, silver, and white pearl. Patrol displays the classic Nissan’s LED headlamps, 18” alloy wheels, off-road Bumper, and a new V-motion grille. Added to this, the latest 2020 model that is currently dominating the Dubai roads, have auto fold side mirrors, rear pintle hook, rear spoiler and LED rear lamps.
Looking at the other exterior perspectives, Patrol does not fail with the awe-inspiring look. The front built is adorned with black coloured door mirrors and the interior door handles have a chrome finish. Its headlights are automatic with daytime running lights as a bonus for better visibility during the night.
Interior Design
Inside the cabin, a 7-inch Advanced Driver Assist Display is the first visibly attractive feature. The seats are fabric bound whereas the shift knob is bound with superior quality, semi-matte leather cover. Focusing at the multifunctional steering wheel, it has the classic Nissan logo at the centre; phone, cruise control and audio feature buttons at its side and the red ‘start/stop’ button just behind it.
Patrol’s multi-information display is definitely another overachiever with the car image displayed on the screen. It is great for reverse or parallel parking as the driver can actually see where the car is heading down.
Coming with a height-adjustable facility, Patrol does not hold back with the comfort factor. The driver’s seat is 8-way powered, has front seatback pockets, map lamp, cool box, and a front climate control feature. In the entertainment section, Patrol has a 4 speaker audio system including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay features.
However, it does not compromise on the comfort of the passengers at the rear end. Where the second row has Tumbl rear seats that can be manually folded, its third row has a 60/40 split fold-down bench seat. Adding to it, the rear seats also have rear coolers and personal reading lamps.
Safety features
Nissan has always highlighted its safety aspects as its prominent factors for being a favourite of people. Being a people’s car, this SUV is equipped with a myriad of safety features like:
- Nissan Immobiliser and Alarm
- Automatic Hazard Warning Signal
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
- Rear Differential Locking
- Front & rear parking sensor
- LSD or Limited Slip Differential
- Hill-start assist
- Hill Descent Control
- ABS + EBD
- Driver and passenger airbags
- Traction Control
- Vehicle Stability Control System
- Anti-Lock Braking System
- Child Safety Locks
- Front and side-impact beams
Competitors
Aside from the Nissan Patrol, there are also other competitive SUVs running on Arabian roads. One major competitor in line with Patrol is the new Toyota Land Cruiser EXR 2020. Here the trending question arises – which of the two is better?
Even though the Cruiser’s range is a bit higher (AED 215,900) in comparison to Patrol, its power (271 bhp) and torque (385 Nm) is quite similar to the latter. In fact, from its acceleration to its top speed, a majority of Toyota’s technical aspect is similar to Nissan. In such a case, shelling out an extra of AED 16,000 (Toyota) for similar features can be a big and expensive mistake.
Verdict
Looking at all the tech-advanced features, it can be rightly said that the Nissan Patrol is a one-machine army. Be it for Arabic-supported HDD navigation, 9.3GB Music Box hard drive, climate-controlled leather seats, computerized terrain response system or entre console cool-box, Patrol has every reason that a buyer can have to side the contenders and reach out for this classy SUV called Nissan Patrol.
