Next-gen MG HS leaked ahead of its official premiere

ABU DHABI: The second-generation HS, MG's main contender in the compact crossover segment, is set to debut at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed. This updated model will strengthen MG's position against newer competitors with its enhanced design and features. A teaser video provided a glimpse of its refreshed styling, signifying MG's commitment to staying competitive in the C-SUV market.

Before MG's teaser video, leaked images of the SUV surfaced online, suggesting that the next-gen model will be identical to the third-generation Roewe RX5 available in China. This indicates a shared design direction between the two models, offering a glimpse of what can be expected from the latest version of MG in the compact crossover segment.

To stand out from the Roewe RX5, the all-new MG HS SUV features a unique shark-nosed front fascia, also seen in recent models such as the MG3, MG7, and MG One sedan. At the April Manila International Auto Show, this styling direction was showcased highlighting the commitment of MG to a modern design language.

The side profile of the new MG HS is athletic with fender strakes and rear quarter bulges, complemented by two-tone black and chrome wheels. Its rear features full-width LED taillights with light signatures in X-style inspired by the Union Jack.

Reports suggest the all-new MG HS SUV will be offered with different powertrain options, including plug-in hybrid, traditional internal combustion engines (ICE), or fully electric propulsion. Closer to the scheduled premiere of the all-new MG HS more details will be revealed.
