Cadillac has not released any teaser video about the 2021 Escalade. The General Motors-owned company, however, has shared some photos of the shooting. The pictures have revealed the full-sized SUV’s façade which sports an oversized chrome-tinged grille with two slit-style, narrow headlights on both sides. The headlights are markedly different from the car’s current version which has vertical units. The car retains the upright LED daytime running lights (DRLs) from the present model.

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade will have the curved OLED screen technology, which the company claims is an industry-first. The screen offers the most exhaustive color range, perfect blacks, and bold imagery, compared to any in-car display available today. The screen’s pixel density is double that of a 4K television.

Lee said that he is honored to be a part of the new Cadillac Escalade which is an embodiment of luxury, style, and prestige. Lee had won the Academy Award for the best-adapted screenplay last year for ‘BlacKkKlansman’. He has directed a number of popular films like ‘Malcom X’, ‘She Hate Me’, and ‘Jungle Fever’.

Cadillac president Steve Carlisle has hailed Lee as one of the most creative filmmakers and greatest storyteller of his time. His unique perspective matches the spirit and passion of the 2021 Escalade.

The Escalade was first introduced in 1999 and the first-generation car was almost identical to the GMC Yukon Denali.

Cadillac has sold more than 800,000 cars in the US and 900,000 units globally.
