Mercedes-Benz A-Class W177 gets a performance tuning from Brabus
ABU DHABI: A high-performance tuning company, Brabus, has given a performance boost to the Mercedes-Benz A-Class W177. Getting a new tuning programme from an aftermarket company is not new for the Marcedes-Benz vehicles. Lorinser, another tuning company, had earlier re-tuned the W177, making it capable of delivering a maximum of 258 hp power along with a peak torque of 420 Nm.
The regular Mercedes-Benz A-Class W177 pushes out up to 224 hp power and 350 Nm of peak torque. Whereas, the Brabus tuned vehicle doles out a maximum power of 270 hp along with a peak torque of 430 Nm. This means the power out is bumped up to 46 hp and 80 Nm respectively.
The performance upgrade has been given a name, Brabus PowerXtra B 25 S. The ECU mapping is reprogrammed and the boost pressure has been re-tuned. Moreover, the ducting to the airbox has also been increased. The speedometer can now hit the 100 kmph mark starting from 0 in just 5.9 seconds.
The interior has also been given a sporty feel with a leather and Alcantara trim, branded aluminium pedals, stainless steel scuff plates, and floor mats.
The tuned vehicle now features a Brabus exhaust system built with the stainless steel containing actively controlled exhaust flaps. A two-piece front spoiler and raised flap sides are the notable modifications done on the exterior.
