Lamborghini to reveal the Urus ST-X concept in 2019
ABU DHABI: Lamborghini has revealed the Urus ST-X concept, which will be a racing car and will run as quick as the Aventador and Huracan both on or off the track. The manufacturer will pull the wraps off the concept in Vallelunga, the venue for the Lamborghini World Finals. It will compete in the new single-make championship in 2020 as well.
Squadra Corse, the Italian manufacturer’s motorsports division has designed the Urus ST-X concept. It is light in weight and comes with more safety equipment than the standard model. To be more specific, the concept is 25% lighter than the standard model, thanks to the modifications. The vehicle comes with torsional stiffening that is now improved further with a roll cage. An FT3 fuel tank and a fire suppression system, along with FIA-approved safety features are on offer.
Speaking of the design, the Lamborghini Urus ST-X gets a matte-finished Verde Mantis paint. Apart from that, one can see carbon fibre bits on the exterior. For better cooling and combustion, the company has replaced the front bumper with an aerodynamic design. The vehicle rides on 21-inch alloy wheels and is equipped with an all-new exhaust system. The custom rear wing has gone through some modifications as well.
The Urus comes with a twin-turbo, 4.0-litre V8 engine that is capable of churning out a maximum of 658 PS of power along with a peak torque of 850 Nm. An eight-speed automatic engine does the transmission duties and sends power to all four wheels. Same mechanics will be carried over on the track-friendly super-SUV.
