Hyundai Motor Company has officially revealed the all-new NEXO fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show. The latest iteration of Hyundai’s hydrogen-powered mid-size SUV signals the brand’s continued leadership in zero-emission mobility. With its bold design, enhanced tech, and longer range, this next-generation NEXO sets a fresh benchmark for FCEVs in the UAE and global markets.

Design with Power and Purpose

Inspired by the INITIUM concept, the all-new NEXO showcases Hyundai’s new ‘Art of Steel’ design theme, blending strength with artistic flair. The SUV’s dynamic body lines and HTWO Lamps build on Hyundai’s hydrogen identity. Optional colours like Goyo Copper Pearl reflect Korea’s nature, while the three-layer paint process offers a shifting colour effect based on lighting angles.

Inside, the cabin is larger and smarter. The dashboard includes a curved 12.3-inch dual display and a floating island-style console. Passengers enjoy Relaxation Seats with leg rests in the front and ventilated, reclinable seats in the rear. Luggage space now reaches up to 993 litres, while wider rear doors improve access—ideal for families in the UAE.

Performance Upgrades and Fuel Efficiency

• New 150 kW motor (up from 135 kW), plus upgraded 80 kW battery.
• Hydrogen fuel cell stack power increased to 110 kW.
• Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h now in 7.8 seconds.
• Hydrogen storage now at 6.69 kg, delivering over 700 km range.
• Fuel economy target: 97.8 km/kg (based on 18-inch wheels).
• Added towing capability of 1,000 kg in European-spec models.

Hyundai also improved aerodynamics and low-temp start-up functions. Smart regenerative braking adjusts based on road data, making driving more intuitive in varying UAE conditions.

Hyundai packed the new NEXO with advanced features. Its ccNC infotainment system includes OTA updates, Bang & Olufsen audio, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Generative AI voice assistant that engages in natural conversation.

The digital cockpit includes HUD, fingerprint authentication, a digital rear-view mirror with cleaner, and a side mirror camera system. Convenience tech like Digital Key 2, dual wireless phone charging with cooling, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) power output complete the experience.

Comprehensive Safety as Standard

Built with ultra-high strength steel, the NEXO features a new multi-load crash structure and up to nine airbags. Its ADAS suite includes Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance, Lane Following Assist, Parking Assist, and more. Rear Occupant Alert uses radar to detect children or pets left behind.
