Cadillac introduces three new models in the Middle East
Cadillac has introduced three new models in the Middle East at the Dubai International Motor Show, including the brand new XT6 and the CT5 sports sedan alongside the revamped version of the SUV XT5.
The Managing Director of Cadillac International Operations and Cadillac Middle East, Christian Soemmer said, “We wanted to use the incredible platform that 2019 Dubai International Motor Show offers to introduce our most aggressive line-up to date to our Middle East customer base.”
Talking about the launches, the Cadillac CT5 is regarded as a fine blend of performance, comfort and aesthetic beauty. It is available in three variants, including Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport. Customers get an option to upgrade the sedan with an optional Platinum package that’s available on Sport and Premium Luxury models.
The sports sedan also gets the flavour of modern technologies, including numerous connectivity features, capable of offering an excellent in-vehicle experience to the drivers. The infotainment system inside the cabin uses more intuitive ways for interaction, like Near Field Communication for phone pairing and a new rotary controller.
Under the hood, the CT5 sedan gets a twin-scroll turbo 2.0-litre engine, mated to a 10-speed auto transmission with an electronic precision shift. The Premium Luxury and Sport models, on the other hand, are powered by the more powerful twin-turbo V6, 3.0-litre engine capable of churning out a max power of 340 PS and a peak torque of 542 Nm, coupled with a 10-speed auto transmission with an electronic precision shift, like the smaller displacement engine.
The CT5 comes with low-inertia turbochargers and an in-built liquid-to-air intercooling system for sustaining the power across the majority of the rpm band and produce power without lag.
Next up, the Cadillac XT6, which completes the brand’s SUV line-up in this part of the world, joins members like the XT4, new XT5 and the Escalade. It is a three-row crossover that’s designed to offer a comfortable and relaxing experience to the passengers with a fully-connected luxurious cabin and comprehensive set of safety features and technologies.
Available in two models, Premium Luxury and Sport, the XT6 is powered by a V6, 3.6-litre engine with adaptable and refined suspension and smart tow trailing system, mated to a 9-speed auto transmission. While the Premium Luxury model comes with an all-wheel-drive system, the Sport variant has been blessed with Twin-clutch Sport Control AWD.
Some noticeable features of the SUV are wireless charging, semi-aniline leather seating, ultra-view sunroof, active damping suspension and tinted taillamp lens.
The updated Cadillac XT5 comes with revised styling, enhanced technologies and a new turbocharged engine, giving customers more options to match their driving needs and luxury desires. Based on driving dynamics and design, Cadillac offers the new XT5 in three trims, Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport.
The entry-level variant gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates a max power of 240 PS and a peak torque of 350 Nm, mated to a 9-speed auto transmission system. The 2.0-litre equipped XT5 comes with an electric motor instead of a vacuum-based booster and an electrically assisted power braking system.
The higher-grade models come with a V6, 3.6-litre engine that pumps out 314 PS of power and 367 Nm of torque, mated to a 9-speed auto gearbox. A distinct exterior kit comes as standard with the Sport model along with 20-inch wheels and an AWD, which can actively transfer power between the left and right rear wheels.
Inside, the XT5 gets an 8-inch infotainment system with touchscreen, a revised gauge cluster, a rotary controller and a switch to disable auto start/stop function. As part of the safety suite, it gets a forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic front braking with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, auto high-beam headlights and safety alert driver seat.
Cadillac XT5 price starts at $US 45,090 (AED 1,65,606 approx).
