BMW Unveils the New iX in the UAE: Enhanced Performance and Extended Range

The latest BMW iX has arrived in the UAE, bringing groundbreaking improvements in efficiency, driving dynamics, and range. As BMW’s flagship electric SUV, the new iX promises a refined driving experience with state-of-the-art BMW eDrive technology and enhanced luxury features. Without further ado, let’s explore the details of the latest BMW iX.

Electrifying Performance

The new BMW iX maintains its reputation for dynamic, emission-free mobility while delivering significant improvements in power and efficiency. Key performance upgrades include:

The iX xDrive45 sees an 82 hp increase, while the iX xDrive60 gains an additional 21 hp. Additionally, the iX M70 xDrive, BMW’s top-tier electric SUV, delivers a thrilling 659 hp and 1,100 Nm torque. The top speeds range from 200 km/h to 250 km/h, depending on the model.

Extended Range & Charging Efficiency

BMW’s latest battery technology significantly enhances the driving range. The iX xDrive60 achieves up to 701 km on a full charge. In the same vein, the iX xDrive45’s new 94.8 kWh battery improves range by 40%. At the same time, a high-voltage battery of 109.1 kWh for the iX xDrive60 and 108.9 kWh for the iX M70 xDrive ensures long-distance capability.

Some of the charging enhancements includes:

• DC fast charging: Up to 195 kW (175 kW for the iX xDrive45), allowing 10-80% charge in around 30 minutes.
• AC charging: Up to 22 kW for home and public charging.
• Optimized Plug & Charge and solar-powered charging via BMW’s Connected Home Charging.

Exterior & Interior Upgrades

BMW enhances the iX’s already futuristic design with refined aerodynamics and new personalization options. 

For the exterior, there's the new front grille, which is redesigned with vertical and diagonal elements for a sophisticated look. There's also slimmer headlights, featuring adaptive LED technology with city lights. The optional M Sport package includes aggressive front intakes, dark M Shadow Line lights, and 22-inch M alloy wheels.

New color options include Arctic Race Blue metallic, Dune Grey metallic, Carbon Black metallic, Tanzanite Blue metallic, and Space Silver metallic (available from summer 2025).

For the interior, there are M multifunction seats with perforated microfibre/Sensatec with improved lateral support. There's also the BMW Curved Display, which is a digital cockpit powered by BMW Operating System 8.5. 

The elite BMW vehicle comes with enhanced comfort like heated steering wheel, adaptive LED lighting, and an optional Sky Lounge panoramic glass roof. Lastly, it has premium sound, which is the Standard Harman Kardon surround system, with an optional Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Sound System.

Driving Assistance & Safety

The new iX comes equipped with next-gen driver assistance technologies:

• Driving Assistant Plus: Includes Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go.
• Highway Assistant (Level 2+): Allows hands-free driving up to 130 km/h.
