BMW reveals new long wheelbase X3 model

ABU DHABI: BMW has come up with the X3’s latest generation with a long wheelbase. It will be launched exclusively in China. This new model enhances the long-wheelbase lineup of BMW’s SUVs in the region, complementing the existing X5 and X1. The X3 L offers increased comfort and interior room. It has been designed to cater to the more spacious luxury SUVs growing demand.

The new BMW X3 L will be available in two powertrain options, catering to all kinds of performance needs. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder base engine delivers 190 horsepower, while 258 horsepower is provided by the more powerful variant.

Both engine options are mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission, ensuring responsive and smooth driving. Additionally, this new model comes with all-wheel drive, enhancing stability and traction across diverse driving conditions. At BMW's Shenyang facility, the new model will be produced, through a partnership with Brilliance Automotive of China.

 

The new X3 L measures 4,865mm in length and in comparison to the standard model it is 110mm longer. In higher trims, it also comes with an M Sport design package, giving a sportier look to the long-wheelbase model.

The standard X3 will be offered in China by BMW with the imported M50 xDrive powertrain from the U.S. An illuminated kidney grille, the BMW Curved Display and six paint options including Frozen will be offered in all X3 variants. The interior also comes with the unique BMW interaction bar on the dashboard and flat-bottom steering wheel.

BMW has not revealed anything about the launch of the LWB SUVs in the UAE.
