BMW introduces a new X1 PHEV variant in Thailand
ABU DHABI: BMW is trying its best to reinforce its leadership in Thailand’s PHEV electric vehicle segment. The company has recently launched the X1 xDrive30e plug-in hybrid in the Thai market leading to a sustainable future of e-mobility.

The new X1 xDrive30e features an exterior design similar to the ongoing iX1, which is the variant of the BMW X1 range that is currently being sold in UAE.

The interior ensures intuitive operation and supreme comfort. Some of the highlights of the interior include a head-up display, heated front seats, a Harmon Kardon audio system, and a BMW ConnectedDrive system. The luggage compartment is smaller than the non-hybrid X1 sDrive18i variant.
The SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine mated to an electric motor, which combinedly produces a maximum power of 326 hp and a peak torque of 477 Nm.
The X1 xDrive30e has an all-electric range of around 83 km and is equipped with an all-wheel-drive system.
BMW claims that X1 xDrive30e runs from zero to 100 kmph in 5.6 seconds before attaining a top speed of 205 kmph. There is a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox that transmits the power to the wheels of the vehicle. It also has convenience features like Driving Assistant and Parking Assistant Plus.
At present, the BMW X1 lineup only consists of a single variant known as BMW X1 sDrive 20i in the UAE. It is priced at AED 189,000 and comes with tons of interesting features. We will have to wait for the introduction of the PHEV trim in the UAE to enhance the options in the local market.
