Aston Martin to reveal the DBX in 2019
ABU DHABI: Aston Martin’s highly anticipated crossover, the DBX might soon see the light of the day. The concept model of the crossover was showcased three years back, and now the brand has released the first set of pictures of its prototype. Although the vehicle is camouflaged, it shows the kind of progress Aston Martin is making towards getting the concept model into production.
Aston Martin claims to carry out an extensive testing along the Welsh rally stage. Seems the luxury auto brand will not spare any efforts to make sure its longevity, driving capability, and the other equipment are up to the mark.
From the released images, the brand new DBX looks like a Vantage. At the front panel, a huge grille is placed perfectly along with the shiny LED headlights. The sloping roofline of the DBX is unique and offers a sporty look to the crossover. The rear of the test mule currently features faux taillights and a huge part of it is covered with a camouflage.
Aston Martin has not revealed the engine specifications yet. However, one can easily spot the dual exhaust at the back, which means, the DBX might get a DB11 inspired engine, either a V8 or V12.
Aston Martin’s Chief Engineer, Matt Becker has said that the DBX has been tuned and developed in the driving simulator. It makes the progress excellent before the availability of the first physical prototype cars.
The brand new DBX will be officially launched in the second half of 2019. And the manufacture's state-of-art St. Athan plant will host its production. It will also become the automaker’s manufacturing plant for the other production models that are fully electric.
