All-new Porsche Macan enters the UAE market

ABU DHABI: The compact premium SUV segment is a hard fought battle between the Germans and the sportiest of the lot could be the Porsche Macan. At a special event held at the Porsche Centre in Dubai, the new Macan was launched for the UAE market.

The new Macan will be available in 4 new colors: Crayon, Dolomite Silver Metallic, Mamba Green Metallic, and Miami Blue. Other exterior changes include redesigned LED headlights (which are now standard) at the front, and a 3D LED light panel element at the rear.

Enter inside the new Macan and you are greeted with high-quality materials all around, like Alcantara on the seats and in other places. Standard equipment includes a new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, rear view camera, auto dimming mirrors, panoramic sunroof, and a 10.9-inch touchscreen. Apart from the standard equipment you also get a wide array of options to choose from. One such example is the Sport Chrono Package which adds a GT sports steering wheel, an analogue clock, and a Sport Response Button similar to the one on the 918 Spyder.

Powering this baby Porsche is either a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder unit or a 3.0-litre V6. The former makes 252 hp and 370 Nm and with the optional Sport Chrono package can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 6.5 seconds. Top speed is 227 kmph. The V6 engine can be had in the Macan S and pushes out 354 hp and 480 Nm of torque. Again with the Sport Chrono Pack, the Macan S can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 5.1 seconds while topping out at 254 kmph.

Prices for the new Macan start at AED 214,800 while the Macan S trim is priced at AED 283,100. If driving dynamics are at the top of your list, then it probably does not get better than the Porsche Macan. It as a sports car like feel wrapped in the body of an SUV.
