All-new Nissan Patrol - First impression

Nissan gave its iconic model Patrol a major update globally. The heavily changed version is currently on sale in several markets including UAE where it accounts for a large chunk of the segment.
It sees no change on the mechanical front; albeit heavy cosmetic tweaks are prominent on the outside. Moving to the cabin, it retains the same layout and receives a bunch of new features.

To give you an up-close insight into the 2020 Nissan Patrol, we bring you our first impression of the refreshed model, have a look.

Exterior

Sporting Nissan’s new design tenet, the latest iteration of Nissan Patrol receives copious styling tweaks on the outside. Most of the changes are visible at the front as it gets Nissan’s slightly tweaked V-motion grille for its range of SUVs. The redesigned grille highlights Patrol’s bold angular front. Another prominent change in front is the new boomerang-shaped LED headlamps.

The sides of the all-new Patrol receive no major tweak. Jumping to the rear, it features new boomerang-shaped tail-lamps, a large nameplate and rear sequential turn indicators. With the addition of new elements to the exterior, the Patrol surpasses its pre-facelift version in visual terms.

Interior

What has changed inside the new Nissan Patrol?

Subtle styling tweaks are visible inside the cabin, though nothing prominent. Another pleasant change is the addition of new connectivity tech for an enriching cabin experience.

Listed below are some new features that have been packed inside the Patrol -

  • New centre console
  • Dual Displays
  • Apple CarPlay
  • Android Auto
  • New diamond stitched leather quilted seats

  • Additional padding for the seats
  • New hand-stitched steering wheel
  • Climate control
  • Powered lumbar support for front seats (optional)

Besides, the air-conditioner works better to beat UAE’s scorching temperature thanks to the improved cooling and air-flow distribution. Save for the above changes, the spacious cabin retains its pleasant styling and design.

Engine

The 2020 Nissan Patrol specifications remain unchanged. Powering the Nissan Patrol are the powerful V6 and V8 engines. The high displacing units are supported by an all-mode 4X4 drivetrain that enables delivering excellent off-road performance. Both units are linked to a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
